Store General Manager
Report to: GM of the Respective store & RD (of Respective Region)
Location : GCC
Responsibilities:
Finance
· Improve sales growth, GP and profitability by reducing expenses
· Improve customer counts / footfall and average basket value through constant monitoring and initiatives to promote sales.
· Coordinate with Accounts manager regularly on effective control & reduction of expenses in line with the budget, thereby increasing overall profitability.
· Push higher gross profit items, watch movement of product, and adjust stocking plans, displays by coordinating with department store managers and buyers.
· Control the wastage & stock variance within the target percentage.
· Approve the financial requirements [within the permitted level ]for store maintenance & services, staff & other business activities
· Stock Management: Maintain optimum level of stock by reducing aged stock and surplus stock. Monitor product movement, FIFO, stock holding & Back store mgt by regularly checking Back Store & Receiving Area.
· Approve invoices and cheques after thoroughly verifying the relevant documents and details
Operations
· Ensure the outlet is ready for trading before store opening and the store operations run smoothly according to the company policy.
· Coordination with aggregators such as Amazon & Talabat to increase sales and operational efficiency, as applicable.
· Follow compliance of SOPs, Rules & Regulations set by the company & regulating authorities
· Ensure AMCs are renewed and periodical maintenance works are done on time for optimizing the life cycle of machines and equipment.
· Follow the FIFO policy for product merchandising and clear the near expiry goods timely.
· Floor walk (daily) with the managers & buyers to check & rectify the operational issues
· Coordinate with the mall management team for regular & scheduled maintenance & other AMC operations, wherever applicable.
· Co-ordinate with CBD on upcoming events, promotion plans etc., ensure product availability.
· Analysis the effectiveness of each promotion in coordination with shop buyer and CBD.
· Monitor the Quality Mgt System-QMS practices and make necessary corrective actions for improvement, wherever applicable on standards such as ISO, HACCP etc.
· Renewal of all Government permissions to operate the business and activities related to store in coordination with PRO, as applicable.
· Review and Submit periodical reports (SRM, GAP Scan, sales, wastage, KPI, promotion planning, improvement action plans etc., as applicable) to RO team
· Ensure GAP scan & SRM standards are met through constant follow up.
· Stakeholder engagement - Supplier/tenant/visitor meeting
· Minimizing the stock loss with best practices, control wastage & variances within the standard limit across all departments, to increase profit & attain maximum GP.
· Conduct Visits to LCL periodically.
· Conduct market surveys and visit to competitors' shops periodically to understand changes, trends and best practices and to adopt the best practices in Lulu.
Customer
· Review customer complaints daily with customer service team, aftersales team & home delivery team to deliver quality service to the customers & ensure customer satisfaction.
· Customer comments, complaints and feedback: Ensure customer suggestions and feedback are considered and acted upon for improving excellent customer shopping experience.
· Full: Ensure the product availability and good display standards in all departments.
· Priced: Ensure products are priced for clarity to customers
· Clean: Ensure cleanliness, safety & hygiene standards in the store.
· Quality: Quality of products and display standards
· Service: Establish excellent customer service standards.
· Promote Lulu Happiness (loyalty) program as a customer retention strategy by registering more customers into the Programme.
· Periodical meetings & reviews with all stakeholders including vendors, tenants & AMC team.
· Arrange CSR activities in the store on regular basis by coordinating with Regional CSR in-ch
People
· Encourage employees to give their suggestions/feedback and manage the suggestions including the implementation of suitable suggestions/feedback for improvement.
· Schedule the staff annual leave without effecting the store operations
· Conduct MRM & budget meeting with the team periodically to review business performance and communicate Minutes of Meeting to all relevant people for improvement action.
· Conducting staff meeting to ensure that staff issues are addressed & solved on a timely basis, motivate them to increase work efficiency & make them grow professionally.
· Ensure performance appraisals of employees are conducted periodically to improve employee productivity and their competencies and the PA reports are submitted to HR.
· Conduct Employee Recognitions Programme such as EOM to motivate good performing employees.
· Schedule manager's duty time and monitor deployment of sufficient staff on duty
· Visit staff accommodation periodically and ensure necessary maintenance works are carried out without delay to provide good living environment to employees.
· Ensuring staff turn-out/hygiene (including promoters/merchandisers)
· Motivate all staffs and create good team spirit through activities such as Coffee With GM.
· Provide conducive working environment, motivation, support and guidance and develop efficient workforce and their long-term retention.
· Train the staff to develop multi-tasking and empower them to perform in better way
· Identify training needs of people and arrange necessary training in coordination with Training Dept.
