Job Summary
We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Sub Editor to join our News Department. The candidate will be responsible for editing, proofreading, fact-checking, and refining news content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to editorial standards. The ideal candidate should have strong language skills, news judgment, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit and proofread news articles, reports, and features for grammar, style, and accuracy.
- Verify facts, figures, names, and other information before publication.
- Write and edit headlines, captions, summaries, and news briefs.
- Ensure content complies with editorial guidelines and journalistic ethics.
- Coordinate with reporters, correspondents, and the editorial team for content improvement.
- Monitor news developments and suggest story ideas.
- Maintain consistency in language, tone, and formatting across all published content.
- Handle breaking news updates and meet publication deadlines.
- Assist in page planning and content management when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English Literature, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Sub Editor or in a similar editorial role.
- Excellent command of English and/or regional language writing and editing.
- Strong knowledge of current affairs, politics, business, sports, and general news.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Content Management Systems (CMS).
- Strong attention to detail and fact-checking abilities.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts and under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in print, digital, or television news media.
- Familiarity with SEO and digital publishing tools.
- Knowledge of multimedia content editing is an added advantage.

Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: As per company standards and candidate experience.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
