Full job description

Key Responsibilities:

1. OT Operations Management

· Oversee daily functioning of all operation theatres across surgical specialties (General Surgery, Orthopedics, Cardiology, ENT, Urology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, etc.).

· Coordinate surgery schedules and ensure cases are conducted as per plan.

· Supervise OT readiness — equipment, consumables, instruments, and patient flow.

· Ensure minimal downtime and efficient turnover between cases.

· Implement and monitor adherence to surgical safety and infection control protocols.

2. Resource & Inventory Management

· Track availability and usage of surgical instruments, consumables, and implants.

· Coordinate with the central store, pharmacy, and CSSD for supply chain management.

· Raise purchase indents and ensure cost-effective procurement.

· Monitor maintenance and calibration of OT equipment with the biomedical team.

3. Quality, Safety & Compliance

· Ensure compliance with NABH, JCI, or ISO standards applicable to OT operations.

· Maintain OT registers, documentation, and case logs as per statutory and accreditation norms.

· Conduct regular internal audits, safety drills, and infection control checks.

· Participate in root cause analysis for surgical delays, cancellations, or near-miss events.

4. Staff & Shift Coordination

· Prepare OT staff rosters, shift allocations, and leave management.

· Monitor staff punctuality, performance, and discipline.

Coordinate orientation and training programs for OT technicians, nurses, and housekeeping staff.

· Support continuous skill enhancement and compliance with SOPs.

5. Communication & Coordination

· Liaise between surgeons, anesthetists, nursing supervisors, and administrative departments.

· Coordinate patient transfer to and from pre-op and post-op areas.

· Handle interdepartmental coordination with ICU, wards, radiology, and billing teams.

· Escalate operational bottlenecks and implement corrective measures promptly.

6. Reporting & Data Management

· Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly OT utilization and performance reports.

· Track KPIs such as OT occupancy, case count, turnaround time, and cancellations.

· Assist in budgeting, expense monitoring, and performance reviews for OT operations.

· Use Hospital Information System (HIS) for data entry, scheduling, and reporting.

Qualifications & Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, or Nursing.

· 2–5 years of experience in OT or hospital operations (preferably in a multispecialty setup).

· Sound knowledge of OT workflows, infection control, and accreditation standards (NABH/JCI).

Key Skills:

· Excellent coordination and multitasking abilities.

· Strong leadership and communication skills.

· Proficiency in MS Office and Hospital Information Systems (HIS).

· Attention to detail, process-oriented mind-set, and quick decision-making ability.

· Ability to work in high-pressure and emergency situations.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
