Full job description

Job Title : DCDP / Commis 1 – Continental1
Department: Food Production – Continental Kitchen

Job Summary:

To prepare and present high-quality Continental dishes while maintaining food quality, hygiene, consistency, and kitchen standards in a hotel environment..

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare Continental dishes as per hotel recipes and standards.
Handle daily mise en place and ensure timely preparation of food.
Assist the Chef in buffet, à la carte, banquet, and special event operations.
Maintain consistency in taste, quality, portion, and presentation.
Follow standard recipes and proper cooking methods.
Ensure proper storage, labelling, and handling of food items.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the work area and equipment.
Follow food safety and HACCP standards.
Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
Minimize food wastage and maintain proper portion control.
Coordinate with other kitchen sections for smooth service.
Assist in menu preparation and new dish trials when required.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly.
Support junior kitchen staff and guide Commis II/III as required.
Follow hotel SOPs, grooming standards, and kitchen discipline.
Perform other duties assigned by the Chef

Qualifications & Requirements:

Diploma / Degree in Hotel Management or equivalent.
DCDP: Minimum 3–5 years of Continental kitchen experience, preferably in a 4-star/5-star hotel.
Commis 1: Minimum 2–3 years of Continental kitchen experience, preferably in a hotel.
Candidates with relevant hotel experience will be preferred.
Experience in buffet, à la carte, banquet, and large-volume food production is an added advantage.
Immediate joiners are preferred..

Skills Required:

Good knowledge of Continental cuisine.
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food presentation.
Good understanding of hygiene and food safety standards.
Ability to work under pressure during peak operations.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and consistency.
Ability to maintain kitchen discipline and cleanliness.
