Engineer – Service (Bhilai)

Position : Engineer – Service (Bhilai)

Location : Bhilai, Chhattisgarh

Experience Required : 4–6 years

Employment Type : Permanent

Key Responsibilities

1. Service Execution

1) Attend to customer service requests for valves and skids across East India.
2) Conduct installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair activities on-site.
3) Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance as per service protocols.
4) Document service reports and collect customer acknowledgment after each visit.

2. Customer Handling

1) Build strong rapport with customer maintenance teams and plant personnel.
2) Address customer concerns promptly and provide confidence through technical competence.
3) Escalate only critical issues while demonstrating problem-solving ability on-site.
4) Support customers with spares identification, replacement planning, and recommendations.

3. Coordination & Documentation

1) Liaise with internal teams (Design, Quality, Spares, Manufacturing) to resolve field issues.
2) Ensure accurate communication of service feedback to the central office.
3) Assist in preparing quotations for spares and service jobs in coordination with the Service & Spares team.
4) Maintain systematic records of service calls, parts replaced, and repeat issues.

Qualifications & Experience

1) Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Instrumentation, or equivalent discipline.
2) Note: ITI candidates with relevant experience can also be considered.
3) 4–6 years of hands-on experience in field service/maintenance within valves, pumps, rotating equipment, or industrial machinery.
4) Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
5) Willingness to travel.
6) Candidates with prior experience in steel plants, power plants, or process industries will be preferred.

1) High degree of independence and ownership in handling service jobs.
2) Resourceful and solution-oriented mindset – able to resolve issues with minimal supervision.
3) Strong interpersonal and customer-handling skills.
4) Good communication skills for service reporting and customer interaction.
5) Resilience, adaptability, and willingness to work in challenging field conditions.

Performance Indicators (KPIs)

1) Response time to customer service requests.
2) First-time resolution rate of service issues.
3) Customer satisfaction and repeat service engagement.
4) Accuracy and timeliness of service documentation.
5) Growth in spares and service revenue from assigned region.
