Head Chef / Continental Chef / Kitchen Manager – Job Description

Position: Head Chef / Continental Chef / Kitchen Manager
Location: Cafe Theory
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

Cafe Theory is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef / Continental Chef to lead our kitchen operations for our newly opening cafe. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in preparing and maintaining high-quality food and beverages, managing kitchen staff, maintaining hygiene standards, controlling food costs, and ensuring smooth daily operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Menu Execution

Prepare and oversee the production of:
Burgers
Sandwiches & Wraps
Loaded Fries
Fried Chicken
French Fries and Snacks
Continental and fast-food items
Prepare and supervise beverage production, including:
Fresh Juices
Mojitos & Mocktails
Lassi & Sarbath
Samovar Tea
Coffee (hot & cold)
Other hot and cold beverages
Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality of all menu items.

Kitchen Management

Lead, train, and supervise kitchen staff.
Plan daily food preparation and coordinate kitchen operations.
Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards according to hygiene regulations.
Monitor stock levels and manage inventory efficiently.
Minimize food wastage and control food costs.
Coordinate with management for menu development and introducing new items.
Prepare SOP

Quality & Safety

Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients.
Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and sanitation.
Follow food safety procedures and ensure compliance with health regulations.
Regularly check equipment and maintain kitchen efficiency.

Requirements

Minimum 2-5 years of experience as a Head Chef, Continental Chef, or Kitchen Manager in a cafe, restaurant, or fast-food outlet.
Strong knowledge of burgers, sandwiches, fried chicken, loaded fries, snacks, and beverage preparation.
Experience in making fresh juices, mocktails, lassi, tea, coffee, and other drinks.
Leadership and team management skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of food costing and inventory management.
Passion for creating quality food and excellent customer experiences.

Preferred Skills

Menu planning and recipe standardization.
Staff training and kitchen organization.
Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
Creative approach to introducing new food and beverage items.
