Full job description

We are looking for a skilled and responsible Lab Technician with 2–3 years of experience in a hospital/diagnostic laboratory. The candidate will be responsible for sample collection and processing, performing laboratory investigations, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Collect, receive, label, process and handle patient samples as per SOPs.
Perform routine laboratory investigations in Hematology, Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology and Serology as per assigned competency.
Operate laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning and daily maintenance.
Follow internal quality control procedures and report any abnormal results or discrepancies to the concerned senior.
Ensure proper sample identification, storage, transportation and disposal as per hospital protocols.
Maintain accurate laboratory records, registers, reports and documentation.
Follow infection control, biomedical waste management and laboratory safety protocols.
Perform equipment calibration/quality checks as per schedule and report equipment breakdowns promptly.
Coordinate with doctors, nurses, phlebotomy staff and other departments for timely investigations and reporting.
Maintain adequate stock of reagents, consumables and other laboratory supplies.
Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of patient information.
Participate in internal audits, quality improvement activities and training programs.
Perform duties as assigned by the Laboratory In-charge / Pathologist.

Skills & Competencies

Good knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
Hands-on experience with automated laboratory analyzers.
Good sample collection and handling skills.
Knowledge of Quality Control and NABH laboratory standards.
Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
Ability to work effectively in shifts and under pressure.
Good communication and teamwork skills.

Candidate Profile

2–3 years of relevant experience in a hospital/diagnostic laboratory preferred.
DMLT / B.Sc. MLT / B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology qualification.
Candidates with experience in a multispeciality hospital will be preferred.
Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including emergency/24×7 laboratory services.
