Job Description (JD) – Program Manager (NGO)

Position Title: Program Manager
Department: Programs / Operations
Reporting To: Director
Location: Srinagar Colony
Employment Type: Full-Time

Ashray Akruti is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of underserved communities through education, skill development, livelihood, disability inclusion, healthcare, and community development initiatives.

Job Summary

The Program Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating projects and programs of the organization. The role involves team management, stakeholder coordination, donor reporting, budget monitoring, and ensuring program objectives are achieved effectively and efficiently.

Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Planning and Implementation

Develop annual program plans and implementation strategies.
Ensure timely execution of project activities as per approved plans.
Coordinate with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders for smooth program delivery.
Monitor program progress and address implementation challenges.

Team Management

Supervise and support project staff, trainers, coordinators, and field teams.
Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
Build team capacity through mentoring and training.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

Track program outcomes and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Maintain accurate program documentation and records.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management and donors.
Ensure data quality and compliance with organizational standards.

Stakeholder and Partnership Management

Develop and maintain relationships with government departments, CSR partners, NGOs, educational institutions, and community leaders.
Represent the organization in meetings, events, and networking forums.
Facilitate partnerships to strengthen program impact.

Budget and Resource Management

Monitor program budgets and expenditures.
Ensure optimal utilization of resources.
Coordinate with finance and procurement teams for project requirements.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

Ensure adherence to donor guidelines and organizational policies.
Maintain compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Promote safeguarding, inclusion, and ethical practices across programs.

Required Qualifications

Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW), Rural Development, Public Administration, Management, or a related field.
5–8 years of experience in program management within the NGO/social sector.
Experience in managing donor-funded projects is preferred.
Strong understanding of community development and social impact programs.

Skills and Competencies

Leadership and team management skills.
Project planning and execution.
Monitoring and evaluation expertise.
Budget management and reporting.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Preferred Experience

Experience in skill development, disability inclusion, education, livelihood, or community development programs.
Familiarity with CSR projects and government schemes.
Experience working with diverse stakeholder groups.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Achievement of program targets and outcomes.
Timely submission of reports.
Budget utilization efficiency.
Stakeholder satisfaction and partnership development.
Team performance and retention.
Compliance with donor and organizational requirements.
