Job Title: Logistics Coordinator – Pan-India MHE Transfers
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Logistics Coordinator to manage the end-to-end relocation and transfer of Material Handling Equipment (MHE)—such as forklifts, reach trucks, stackers, VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) trucks, and heavy warehouse machinery—on a Pan-India level.
The successful candidate will be responsible for orchestrating complex inter-state movements, managing national 3PL partners, optimizing freight costs, and ensuring 100% compliance with diverse state-level and national transportation regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pan-India Network & Route Optimization
- Plan and execute long-haul, multi-state, and intra-city transfers of MHE between national distribution centers, regional warehouses, and client sites.
- Conduct extensive route assessments to map out optimal paths, accounting for infrastructure challenges unique to Indian highways (e.g., clearance heights for tall MHE, toll plaza restrictions, and urban no-entry timelines).
- Strategic selection of fleet types based on transit distance and machine specifications (e.g., low-bed, semi-low bed, multi-axle trailers, or containerized vehicles).
2. National Vendor & Contract Management
- Source, onboard, and manage a robust network of Pan-India heavy-haul transport vendors, crane operators, and rigging teams.
- Negotiate competitive freight rates, establish standard tariff matrices for high-frequency routes, and monitor vendor performance through monthly Service Level Agreement (SLA) reviews.
- Coordinate localized support for loading/unloading (such as hiring local 20-50 ton hydra cranes) at remote or tier-2/tier-3 city locations.
3. Statutory Compliance & Digitization
- GST & e-Way Bills: Ensure flawless generation, tracking, and extension (in case of transit delays) of inter-state e-Way bills to prevent vehicle impoundment and heavy compliance penalties.
- ODC Governance: Identify Over-Dimensional Cargo (ODC) movements and secure necessary online permissions/permits from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) or regional RTOs.
- Maintain complete digital documentation, including Lorry Receipts (LR), Transit Insurance certificates, asset movement gate passes, and delivery challans.
4. Real-Time Tracking & Risk Management
- Monitor all active national shipments utilizing GPS tracking, FASTag transaction logs, and telematics systems to provide accurate Estimated Times of Arrival (ETA) to internal and external stakeholders.
- Serve as the central point of contact for resolving en-route emergencies, such as vehicle breakdowns, accidents, state-border check-post queries, or route diversions.
- Supervise strict asset-tagging and pre-/post-dispatch condition reporting to manage transit damage claims efficiently.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of core experience in heavy machinery, ODC, or MHE logistics management at a national level.
- Geographical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Indian highway networks, major transit corridors, and state-specific transport constraints.
- Regulatory Expertise: Strong command over the Motor Vehicles Act (CMVR rules), ODC limitations, and national GST/e-Way bill regulations.
- Technical Savviness: High proficiency in using Transport Management Systems (TMS), ERP tools (SAP/Oracle), the government e-Way Bill portal, and advanced MS Excel for freight analytics.
- Languages: Fluency in English and Hindi is essential. Knowledge of additional regional languages (such as Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, or Bengali) is highly advantageous for dealing with local transport unions and drivers.
