Position: HR Intern
Department: Human Resources
Industry: IT & Real Estate Development
Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu
Employment Type: Internship
Reporting To: HR Manager / Head – HR

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented HR Intern to join our HR team in Chennai. The role will provide hands-on exposure to recruitment, employee engagement, HR operations, onboarding, documentation, and HR coordination in a growing organization operating across IT and Real Estate Development.

The ideal candidate should be a good communicator, willing to learn, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

Support the HR team in sourcing candidates through job portals, LinkedIn, social media, employee referrals, and other channels.
Screen resumes based on job requirements.
Coordinate with candidates for interviews and follow-ups.
Maintain candidate databases and recruitment trackers.
Assist in preparing and posting job descriptions.
Coordinate interview schedules with candidates and hiring managers.

2. Employee Onboarding

Assist in the new-joiner onboarding process.
Collect and verify employee documents.
Maintain employee records and HR documentation.
Coordinate induction programs for new employees.
Ensure new joiners are informed about company policies, processes, working hours, and organizational practices.

3. HR Operations

Assist with maintaining attendance and employee records.
Support HR documentation and filing.
Update HR trackers and reports.
Assist with preparation of HR MIS and daily/weekly recruitment reports.
Coordinate with employees and HODs for routine HR requirements.

4. Employee Engagement

Assist in organizing employee engagement activities and HR initiatives.
Support internal communication activities.
Participate in employee welfare and culture-building initiatives.
Help coordinate HR events, celebrations, training programs, and activities.

5. Learning & Development

Assist in coordinating employee training programs.
Maintain training attendance and records.
Support HR in collecting employee feedback and training requirements.

6. HR Projects

Assist in developing and improving HR processes.
Support digitalization and automation of HR activities.
Participate in HR projects involving IT, technology, recruitment, employee engagement, and organizational development.
Provide administrative and coordination support to the HR team as required.

Candidate Profile

Pursuing or recently completed MBA/PGDM in HR, BBA/B.Com/BA/B.Sc. or a related discipline.
Freshers and students looking for HR internship opportunities are encouraged to apply.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.
Strong organizational and coordination skills.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.
Good interpersonal skills and professional approach.

Preferred Skills

Basic understanding of Recruitment & Selection
Knowledge of HR processes and documentation
Familiarity with job portals and LinkedIn recruitment
Basic Excel skills
Good follow-up and coordination abilities
Interest in HR technology / HR automation / AI tools will be an advantage
