Role Objective
The Assistant Manager / Manager – Projects will be responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and monitoring biofuel, waste processing, and related infrastructure projects from concept to commissioning. The role requires strong project management, site execution, contractor coordination, MEP understanding, cost control, safety compliance, and timely reporting to ensure delivery of high-quality projects within approved timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead and coordinate end-to-end execution of assigned projects, ensuring timely completion within approved cost, quality, and safety parameters.
- Define project scope, timelines, execution methodology, milestones, and deliverables in coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Prepare project schedules, resource plans, work breakdown structures, and execution plans for smooth project delivery.
- Monitor project progress against approved plans and take corrective actions to avoid delays, cost overruns, and quality issues.
Engineering & Technical Coordination
- Coordinate with design, engineering, and MEP teams to ensure technically and commercially viable project execution.
- Review project drawings, layouts, technical specifications, BOQs, and tender documents to ensure alignment with site requirements.
- Support the development and implementation of standard operating procedures related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, and process systems.
- Oversee construction and installation activities for mechanical, electromechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, and process-related systems.
Budgeting, Cost Control & Procurement Support
- Prepare and review project estimates, budgets, cost reports, and variance analyses.
- Support procurement and contracts teams in vendor evaluation, technical comparison, tendering, and proposal review.
- Monitor project costs, change orders, claims, and budget deviations, and provide timely updates to management.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, materials, equipment, contractors, and other project resources.
Approvals, Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure timely preparation, submission, tracking, and approval of project documents from internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain updated project documentation including schedules, drawings, reports, approvals, MOMs, change requests, and statutory/compliance records.
- Coordinate with government authorities, consultants, vendors, contractors, and internal departments for project-related approvals and requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, technical standards, environmental requirements, and applicable statutory norms.
Site Management & Contractor Coordination
- Supervise site activities and coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams for smooth execution.
- Ensure that all work is carried out as per approved drawings, quality standards, safety guidelines, and project specifications.
- Review contractor performance, manpower deployment, material availability, and site productivity.
- Conduct regular site meetings, progress reviews, and issue-resolution discussions.
Safety, Quality & Risk Management
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and promote a strong safety culture across project sites.
- Monitor quality of workmanship, material usage, installation practices, and project deliverables.
- Identify project risks related to schedule, cost, quality, safety, resources, or approvals and implement mitigation plans.
- Track disputes, delays, claims, and upcoming risks, and escalate critical matters to management.
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Prepare periodic project reports for management covering progress, budgets, schedule status, safety records, risks, claims, disputes, upcoming activities, and key decisions.
- Coordinate effectively with internal departments including design, procurement, finance, operations, legal, and management.
- Act as a key communication link between site teams, consultants, vendors, contractors, and leadership.
- Support project handover, commissioning, closure documentation, and transition to operations team.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline.
- MBA / Postgraduate qualification in Project Management, Operations, or related field will be an added advantage.
Experience
Assistant Manager – Projects: 5–8 years of relevant experience in project execution, engineering, construction, waste management, biofuel, renewable energy, infrastructure, EPC, or process industry projects.
Manager – Projects: 8–12 years of relevant experience, including independent project handling, contractor management, budgeting, and site execution responsibility.

Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
