Position: AVP – Works
Location: Chhattisgarh
Salary: 2–4 Lakhs per Month

Job Objective
The AVP – Works will be responsible for leading and overseeing all activities related to production and maintenance operations within the Sponge Iron Unit (SIU), Ferro Alloys Unit (FAU), and Captive Power Plant (CPP) operations.
The role includes responsibility for production planning, maintenance management, material planning, quality control, packing, dispatch coordination, and operational efficiency. The candidate will also ensure implementation of industry standards, optimize plant resources, and maintain coordination across departments for smooth plant functioning.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Management
- Oversee all production, maintenance, and operational activities within SIU, FAU, and CPP units.
- Lead multiple operational teams to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Ensure plant operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and data-driven decision-making to improve plant performance.
- Validate plant operational and maintenance data including:
- Material and utility consumption
- Production output
- Downtime analysis
- Planned and breakdown maintenance
- Repair activities
- Approve and supervise repair and maintenance work across all plant units.
- Monitor implementation of preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and condition-based monitoring systems.
- Coordinate production planning considering planned and unplanned shutdown schedules.
- Oversee quality assessments of incoming raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods.
- Ensure movement of goods and related activities are performed as per defined procedures and operational standards.
Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with Sales & Marketing and other departments for finalization of production targets.
- Liaise with Raw Material, Purchase, and Stores departments to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials required for plant operations.
- Work closely with Operations Excellence teams to identify and resolve operational non-compliances and process deviations.
General Administration
- Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are properly documented and implemented across SIU, FAU, and CPP units.
- Ensure employees are trained and compliant with operational procedures and safety standards.
- Maintain and validate operational reports including:
- Production reports
- Material consumption reports
- Repair & maintenance records
- Downtime and operational efficiency reports
- Present operational data during management meetings and review discussions.
- Support senior management in strategic operational initiatives and additional assigned responsibilities.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- BE in Metallurgy preferred
Desired Experience
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in manufacturing operations within the steel or metal industry
- Minimum 10+ years of leadership experience in plant operations
- Prior experience handling Sponge Iron, Ferro Alloys, and Captive Power Plant operations is mandatory
- Experience in AVP / Plant Head / Operations Head role preferred
Functional Skills
- Strong understanding of plant operation economics
- Expertise in production planning and quality control systems
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing practices
- Strong understanding of raw material batch/charge mixing for furnace operations
- Familiarity with ISO systems and quality standards
- Experience in handling complete plant operations
- Ability to manage multiple operational workstreams simultaneously
- Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and industry-standard production software

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Candidates currently working in Sponge Iron, Ferro Alloys, or Captive Power Plant operations will be preferred.
- Candidates from Chhattisgarh or nearby states are preferred.
Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per month
