Job Description:
We are seeking a Shopify Expert with deep experience in custom Shopify development to join our Growth team. This role is essential to supporting strategic growth initiatives, including conversion rate optimization (CRO), subscription product innovation, and site performance improvements.

The successful candidate will lead the development of alternative product templates, customized landing pages, and dynamic user flows tailored to traffic sources and referral campaigns. These templates often involve custom logic for free gifts, upsells, and personalized experiences. The role requires close collaboration with marketing, product, and design teams to ensure seamless alignment with business objectives.
You will also contribute to A/B testing implementation, day-to-day maintenance, bug fixes, quality assurance, and ongoing performance optimization. A strong focus on mobile-first development, clean code practices, and version control using Git is essential for success in this role.

Our subscription infrastructure includes a hybrid setup leveraging both Shopify native subscriptions and Recharge-based subscriptions, often within the same purchasing flows.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Lead custom Shopify theme and template development to support growth and conversion initiatives.
Develop alternative product templates and customized landing pages tailored to traffic sources, referral campaigns, and user intent.
Implement dynamic purchasing flows including custom logic for free gifts, upsells, bundles, and personalized user experiences.
Build and manage hybrid subscription infrastructures leveraging Shopify native subscriptions and Recharge-based subscriptions within unified purchasing journeys.
Develop and maintain custom Shopify applications using Storefront API, Admin API, and GraphQL.
Utilize Shopify Metafields to create scalable and flexible content structures.
Support Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) initiatives by implementing A/B tests, optimizing funnels, and enhancing on-site engagement strategies.
Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product, and Design teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Ensure mobile-first, responsive development with a strong focus on performance, accessibility, and clean code practices.
Conduct regular debugging, troubleshooting, QA testing, and bug fixes to maintain site stability and performance.
Optimize website speed and overall performance across devices and browsers.
Manage version control workflows using Git and participate in structured deployment processes.
Contribute to ongoing site maintenance, feature enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Recognized Shopify expert with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Shopify theme and app development.
Strong expertise in Shopify Liquid and building custom, dynamic templates—including alternative product templates based on user source, intent, or campaign logic.
Proficient in Shopify APIs (Storefront API, Admin API), GraphQL, and custom app development.
Experience developing both Shopify native and Recharge-based subscriptions, including hybrid flows and gift logic.
Deep understanding of Shopify Metafields for flexible and scalable content structures.
Strong skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a mobile-first approach and a focus on responsive, high-performance interfaces.
Hands-on experience using Git and working within version-controlled environments.
Excellent debugging, QA, and performance optimization skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities with experience working in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience:

Experience working with BigCommerceand Chargebee
Exposure to A/B testing frameworksand CRO best practices.
Familiarity with analytics tools such as Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Hotjar, or similar.
Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standardsand implementation.
Experience with headless Shopifyor JAMstack-style architectures.
