About the Role
We are hiring a Staff ThoughtSpot Engineer / ThoughtSpot Developer for an on-site role in Bengaluru. This is a hands-on technical role focused on ThoughtSpot platform architecture, administration, dashboard development, data modeling, governance, scalability, and enterprise analytics enablement.
This role is ideal for someone who has deep experience with ThoughtSpot development, ThoughtSpot administration, BigQuery, GCP, high-performance SQL, and enterprise BI platform governance.
This is not a generic BI reporting role. We are looking for a strong analytics platform engineer who can own the ThoughtSpot environment end to end, partner with data and business teams, optimize performance, and help scale self-service analytics across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement ThoughtSpot dashboards, Liveboards, worksheets, and analytical experiences.
- Own ThoughtSpot platform architecture, administration, scalability, governance, and adoption.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting, analytics, and self-service BI requirements.
- Develop ThoughtSpot data models and optimize ThoughtSpot schemas for performance and scalability.
- Design and optimize BigQuery data models to support enterprise analytics and self-service reporting.
- Write, tune, and optimize complex BigQuery SQL queries for large-scale analytical workloads.
- Improve BigQuery performance and cost efficiency using partitioning, clustering, materialized views, and other optimization methods.
- Administer and manage ThoughtSpot SaaS environments.
- Monitor platform health, usage analytics, adoption, and overall system performance.
- Manage tenant configurations and enable new ThoughtSpot platform features.
- Configure and manage users, groups, permissions, and role-based access control.
- Ensure governance standards, compliance readiness, and audit readiness.
- Maintain platform documentation, updates, and operational notes in Confluence or similar tools.
- Configure and manage live query connections.
- Rotate service account keys and support uninterrupted platform operations.
- Troubleshoot ThoughtSpot platform issues and coordinate with ThoughtSpot support when required.
- Use ThoughtSpot Modeling Language, also known as TML, to support migrations across non-production and production environments.
- Use REST APIs for automation, administration, and platform integration tasks.
- Support internal teams using ThoughtSpot visual embed.
- Communicate platform changes, product updates, and best practices to business and technical users.
- Conduct training sessions for new teams and mentor junior developers.
- Support L2/L3 production support activities as needed. Training can be provided if the candidate has limited production support experience.
Required Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, analytics engineering, or analytics platform engineering.
- Expert-level experience with ThoughtSpot development.
- Strong hands-on experience with ThoughtSpot architecture, administration, and data modeling.
- Experience building ThoughtSpot dashboards, Liveboards, worksheets, and semantic models.
- Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery.
- Advanced BigQuery SQL experience.
- Experience with BigQuery performance tuning and data modeling for large-scale analytics.
- Strong understanding of SaaS analytics platforms and self-service BI.
- Experience with semantic modeling and query performance optimization.
- Experience with enterprise governance, RBAC, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Experience with REST APIs, automation, and platform integrations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and lead initiatives from planning through execution.
- Willingness to work on-site in Bengaluru.

You should be comfortable working across platform administration, data modeling, BigQuery SQL, performance tuning, governance, user access, production support, and business enablement.
You should be able to take ownership, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and help teams get more value from ThoughtSpot as a governed self-service analytics platform.
