We're Hiring: Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / DevOps Engineer

Location: Remote – India
Employment Type: Full Time
Experience: 10+ Years
Work Hours: Must be available to work US Pacific Time (PST) and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
Project: Long-term, Multi-Year Engagement

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / DevOps Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and operating highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure while driving automation, observability, and platform reliability across production environments.

Key Responsibilities

Platform & Cloud Engineering

Design, build, and manage scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
Administer and optimize Kubernetes (Amazon EKS) clusters.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
Drive platform modernization, scalability, resilience, and cloud cost optimization.
Perform capacity planning and infrastructure performance tuning.

CI/CD & Automation

Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
Implement Blue-Green, Canary, and Rolling deployment strategies.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational workflows.
Promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps best practices.

Reliability Engineering

Ensure high availability and fault tolerance of production systems.
Define and monitor SLIs, SLOs, and Error Budgets.
Participate in production support and on-call rotations.
Lead incident response, troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and post-incident reviews.
Conduct resilience and disaster recovery validations.

Observability & Monitoring

Design and maintain monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing solutions.
Build dashboards and alerts using Grafana and modern observability tools.
Optimize logging pipelines, metrics collection, and monitoring costs.
Improve application instrumentation and operational visibility.

Security & Compliance

Implement IAM, Kubernetes RBAC, and security best practices.
Manage secrets securely across environments.
Integrate security and vulnerability scanning into CI/CD pipelines.
Enforce infrastructure and container security standards.

Platform Modernization

Perform Kubernetes cluster upgrades with minimal downtime.
Manage infrastructure, OS, and container platform upgrades.
Support database upgrades and platform migrations.
Modernize legacy infrastructure and automate operational processes.

Required Skills

10+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS Cloud.
Expertise in Kubernetes (Amazon EKS).
Strong experience with Terraform.
Experience with GitLab CI/CD.
Hands-on experience with Docker and containerization.
Strong Linux administration skills.
Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry, or similar observability platforms.
Strong scripting skills using Bash or Python.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and production support.
Solid understanding of networking, DNS, IAM, load balancing, and cloud security.

Nice to Have

Argo CD or other GitOps tools.
Helm.
Service Mesh (Istio or Linkerd).
AWS Lambda and Serverless technologies.
Database migration experience.
Chaos Engineering.
FinOps / Cloud Cost Optimization.
AWS or Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD).

Additional Requirements

Must be based in India.
Must be comfortable working strictly during US Pacific Time (PST) business hours.
Must be willing to participate in a 24x7 production on-call rotation.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently in a distributed global team environment.
This is a full-time remote opportunity supporting a long-term enterprise project.

Pay: ₹150,000.00 - ₹200,000.00 per month
