Full job description

A café steward ensures smooth café operations by providing excellent guest service, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and supporting staff. Key responsibilities include greeting guests, clearing and sanitizing tables, washing dishes/utensils, restocking stations, and assisting with food/beverage service to ensure a welcoming environment

. Key Responsibilities and Duties

Customer Service: Greeting guests, seating, and clearing tables quickly to maintain a fast-paced, welcoming environment.
Sanitation & Hygiene: Cleaning and sanitizing dining areas, tables, chairs, and restrooms; operating dishwashers to clean kitchenware.
Operational Support: Restocking service stations, condiments, and cutlery; assisting servers with food delivery and supporting kitchen staff.
Maintenance: Ensuring the café, floor, and equipment are clean, tidy, and safely maintained.
Health & Safety: Adhering to safety protocols, handling cleaning chemicals responsibly, and reporting hazards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift, and carry heavy items (often 25-50+ lbs).
Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, polite, and customer-focused personality.
Efficiency: Capable of working quickly under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, with previous experience in a café or restaurant environment preferred.
