Position Title

Planning Engineer – Aluminium Windows, Doors & Facade Projects

Gefab Facade Solutions Pvt Ltd is a leading aluminium windows, doors, facade glazing, and architectural building envelope solutions company with more than 40 years of industry presence. The company executes premium residential, commercial, hospitality, and high-rise facade projects across South India.

Role Summary

The Planning Engineer shall be responsible for end-to-end project planning, scheduling, monitoring, coordination, and progress tracking of aluminium windows, doors, curtain wall, structural glazing, and facade projects. The role requires close coordination with design, procurement, factory production, logistics, and site execution teams to ensure projects are completed within timelines and budget.

The candidate must possess strong knowledge in facade project sequencing, fabrication planning, installation workflow, and project reporting systems.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Scheduling

Prepare detailed project schedules using Primavera/MS Project/Excel.
Develop baseline programs for fabrication, material procurement, dispatch, and installation.
Create micro-level activity schedules for:
Shop drawings
Material approvals
Procurement
Fabrication
Powder coating/anodizing
Glass procurement
Dispatch
Site installation
Snag rectification
Monitor critical path activities and identify delays proactively.

Production & Fabrication Coordination

Coordinate with factory teams for production planning.
Ensure fabrication targets are aligned with site installation progress.
Monitor daily production quantities and compare against planned schedules.
Coordinate optimization of profile cutting, glass availability, and hardware readiness.

Site Execution Monitoring

Track daily installation progress at project sites.
Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
Monitor manpower productivity and installation efficiency.
Coordinate with Project Managers and Site Engineers for target achievement.
Identify bottlenecks affecting installation progress.

Procurement & Material Tracking

Track long lead items such as:

Aluminium profiles
Glass
Hardware
Accessories
Sealants
Coordinate with procurement department to ensure timely material availability.
Maintain material requirement schedules based on installation sequence.

Client & Consultant Coordination

Participate in project review meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
Present progress reports and recovery plans.
Coordinate approvals affecting project timelines.

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare:

Daily Progress Reports (DPR)
Weekly Progress Reports (WPR)
Monthly Progress Reports (MPR)
Delay analysis reports
Recovery schedules
Look-ahead schedules
Maintain dashboards for:
Fabrication progress
Dispatch status
Site installation status
Material availability
Project milestonesDelay & Risk Management
Identify project risks and propose mitigation plans.
Analyze delay causes and recommend corrective actions.
Support commercial team with extension of time (EOT) documentation when required.

Aluminium facade projects
Building envelope industry
Fenestration projects
Construction project planning

Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in facade glazing and aluminium system companies.

Candidates from the following industries are preferred:

Aluminium windows & doors
Facade glazing
Curtain wall systems
Architectural aluminium systems
Building envelope contracting
Glass & cladding companies

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month

Experience:

Aluminium Joinery: 3 years (Required)
