Full job description

REEL is an industrial group specializing in complex lifting and handling systems as well as integrated systems solutions. We design, produce, and maintain complex lifting and handling systems and solutions in operational condition. for highly technical installations at the heart of customer processes in markets such as: aeronautic, aluminium, defense, nuclear, offshore energy & marine, and industries.

Position:

REEL India Services Pvt. Limited is a subsidiary company of REEL International. REEL is an industrial group specializing in complex lifting and handling equipment’s as well as integrated systems solutions. These systems are integrated into its clients’ processes across the world in various domains such as aeronautics, defense, energy, metallurgy, offshore and industry.

We are seeking an Electrical & Automation Design Engineer to own the end-to-end design, development, and integration of electrical control systems and automation architectures. In this role, you will bridge the gap between hardware power distribution and software automation logic, taking projects from initial concept through detailed engineering and technical support for commissioning.

Key responsibilities

Electrical & Control System Design:

Design and develop detailed electrical schematics, control panel layouts, loop diagrams, and wiring schedules using tools like AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar hardware design platforms
Size and select electrical components including switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), servos, and UPS systems
Ensure all designs comply with relevant global and national standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEC, CE, or local grid codes)

Automation Architecture & Programming:

Design network architectures for industrial automation using protocols like Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and Profibus
Program and configure major PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems, HMI (Human-Machine Interface), and SCADA platforms (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Automation Studio 5000, Schneider EcoStruxure)
Develop robust, structured logic code to control complex hardware sequences, interlocks, and safety systems

Engineering Documentation & Lifecycle Management:

Prepare technical specifications, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Functional Design Specifications (FDS), and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) protocols
Perform engineering calculations including load calculations, short-circuit calculations, and voltage drop analysis
Collaborate with mechanical, software, and project engineering teams to ensure seamless multi-disciplinary integration

Requirements:

Required Technical Skills & Qualifications :

Diploma/BE/BTech in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 6-10 years relevant experience
Good Communication, Negotiation and Conflict management skills
Metals Mining Background will be preferred
Experience in working in a global matrix organization
Core Engineering Foundation: Strong conceptual understanding of electrical power distribution (Low Voltage/Medium Voltage) and control system electronics
Software Tools: High proficiency in EPLAN Electric P8 or AutoCAD Electrical
Automation Platforms: Hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting at least one major ecosystem (Siemens S7-1200/1500, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, etc.)
Instrumentation: Deep knowledge of process instrumentation, analog/digital signalling, and sensor integration
Troubleshooting: Proven ability to diagnose complex electrical faults and debug PLC code systematically
Clear technical communication skills to interface directly with clients, vendors, and on-site testing teams
Strong ownership mindset—ability to manage design deadlines across multiple projects concurrently
