Job Summary

The Guest Service Associate – Housekeeping is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation of guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and assigned workspaces in accordance with the hotel's standards. The role ensures that guests experience a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment while adhering to safety, hygiene, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Room Cleaning

Clean and service assigned guest rooms according to hotel standards.
Make beds and replace bed linens and pillow covers.
Dust, vacuum, mop, and sanitize all room surfaces.
Clean and disinfect bathrooms, toilets, showers, bathtubs, mirrors, and fixtures.
Replenish guest amenities, toiletries, towels, and stationery.
Ensure all furniture and room fixtures are clean and in good condition.
Check room equipment such as lights, television, telephone, air conditioner, minibar, and report any defects.

Public Area Maintenance

Clean assigned public areas including corridors, staircases, lobbies, washrooms, and service areas.
Ensure all public spaces remain clean, tidy, and guest-ready throughout the shift.
Remove litter and maintain overall cleanliness of hotel premises.

Linen and Laundry Handling

Collect used linen and towels from guest rooms.
Arrange fresh linen and amenities for room servicing.
Handle linen carefully to avoid damage or wastage.
Report stained, torn, or damaged linen to the supervisor.

Guest Service

Greet guests courteously and maintain a professional appearance.
Respond politely to guest requests and coordinate with supervisors when necessary.
Deliver guest requests such as extra towels, pillows, blankets, or amenities promptly.
Respect guest privacy and follow "Do Not Disturb" procedures.

Housekeeping Operations

Follow daily room assignment schedules.
Update room status accurately after cleaning.
Maintain housekeeping carts in a clean, organized, and fully stocked condition.
Properly store housekeeping chemicals, equipment, and supplies.
Report lost and found items immediately according to hotel procedures.

Safety and Hygiene

Follow hotel hygiene and sanitation standards.
Use cleaning chemicals safely and according to manufacturer instructions.
Wear the prescribed uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Report maintenance issues, hazards, or safety concerns immediately.
Comply with all hotel safety, fire, emergency, and security procedures.

Teamwork

Coordinate with Front Office, Engineering, Laundry, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Assist fellow team members during high occupancy periods.
Attend departmental meetings and training sessions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Clean assigned rooms within established productivity standards.
Ensure guest rooms are ready before check-in time.
Replace guest supplies and amenities as per hotel standards.
Report maintenance defects promptly.
Handle guest belongings with care and confidentiality.
Follow key control procedures.
Maintain proper inventory of cleaning supplies.
Participate in periodic deep cleaning activities.
Maintain high standards of personal grooming and hygiene.
Perform any additional duties assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Executive Housekeeper.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent.
Certificate or diploma in Housekeeping or Hotel Management is preferred.
Previous experience in housekeeping is desirable but freshers may also apply.

Required Skills

Knowledge of housekeeping procedures and cleaning techniques.
Basic understanding of hygiene and sanitation standards.
