Role Overview
We are looking for a Chartered Accountant with strong expertise in Internal Audit and Financial Planning to join our dynamic team in Kolkata. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining compliance, and leading audit and planning functions that support strategic business growth in a rapidly scaling EdTech environment.
Position Details
Compensation - To be discussed during interview process
Location - Salt Lake, Sector-5, Kolkata – Work from Office
Employment Type - Full-time
Experience Required - Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience (including at least 2 years in Internal Audit)
Work Days - Monday to Saturday (Sunday Week Off)
Work Hours - 11:00 am to 8:00 pm
Education - Chartered Accountant (CA)
Laptop Requirement - Must possess a personal laptop and be able to carry it for work purposes.
Age - 32 yrs
Key Responsibilities
Daily Accounting & Financial Controls
● Conduct daily accounting checks to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation of financial records
● Review and validate daily financial transactions across multiple entities
● Ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal control procedures
● Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data promptly
● Maintain detailed audit trails for all financial activities
Management Information Systems (MIS)
● Prepare detailed MIS reports to aid management in decision-making and performance tracking
● Generate financial dashboards and executive summaries
● Create variance analysis reports comparing actuals vs. budgets
● Provide insights on financial trends and business performance
● Develop automated reporting systems for efficiency
Data Audit & Sales Operations
● Perform data audits related to sales operations, ensuring data integrity for a 500+ member sales team
● Validate sales data, commission structures, and incentive calculations
● Reconcile sales transactions with financial records
● Conduct regular audits of CRM and sales reporting systems
● Ensure accuracy in revenue recognition and reporting
Budgeting & Financial Planning
● Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support organizational growth and efficiency
● Develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for multiple business units
● Conduct financial modeling for new initiatives and strategic projects
● Monitor budget utilization and provide variance explanations
● Support business units in financial planning and resource allocation
Compliance & Regulatory Management
● Ensure compliance with Income Tax and Company's Act regulations
● Oversee tax filings and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
● Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants
● Stay updated with changes in tax laws and accounting standards
● Manage statutory compliance across all entities
Process Optimization
● Streamline and optimize financial and accounting processes for improved accuracy and productivity
● Identify inefficiencies in current workflows and implement improvements
● Automate routine financial processes using tools and technology
● Document standard operating procedures for financial functions
● Implement best practices in internal controls and audit procedures
Cross-Functional Collaboration
● Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and implement process improvements
● Work with operations, sales, HR, and other departments on financial matters
● Provide financial guidance to non-finance teams
● Support strategic initiatives with financial analysis and insights
● Build strong working relationships across the organization
Required Skills & QualificationsMust-Have Qualifications
● Qualification – Chartered Accountant (CA) with valid membership
● Experience – Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience
● Internal Audit – Minimum 2 years of Internal Audit experience (mandatory)
● Regulatory Knowledge – In-depth knowledge of Income Tax and Company's Act laws
● Accounting Software – Hands-on experience with Zoho Books or similar accounting platforms
Technical Skills
● Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
● Expertise in internal audit methodologies and frameworks
● Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis
● Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
● Experience with ERP systems and accounting software
● Knowledge of GST, TDS, and other indirect tax regulations
