Clinical Psychologist – Job Description
The Clinical Psychologist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and providing psychological interventions for individuals experiencing mental, emotional, behavioral, and psychological difficulties. The role includes psychological testing, psychotherapy, counseling, rehabilitation support, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary mental health team to promote patient recovery and well-being.
Key ResponsibilitiesPsychological Assessment
- Conduct detailed psychological evaluations and clinical interviews.
- Administer, score, interpret, and prepare reports for psychological assessments and psychometric tests.
- Assess cognitive, emotional, behavioral, personality, and developmental functioning.
- Prepare comprehensive assessment reports and treatment recommendations.
Therapeutic Interventions
- Provide individual psychotherapy and counseling sessions.
- Conduct Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavior Therapy, Supportive Therapy, Family Therapy, and other evidence-based interventions as appropriate.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Monitor treatment progress and modify interventions when necessary.
Inpatient & Outpatient Services
- Provide psychological services to both OPD and IPD patients.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning.
- Conduct crisis intervention and psychological support during emergencies.
Group Activities & Rehabilitation
- Conduct group therapy sessions, psychoeducation programs, and therapeutic activities.
- Organize life skills training, stress management, social skills training, and rehabilitation activities.
- Support patient recovery, reintegration, and rehabilitation programs.
Family Counseling & Psychoeducation
- Provide counseling and guidance to family members and caregivers.
- Educate patients and families regarding mental health conditions, treatment plans, and coping strategies.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate clinical records, therapy notes, assessment reports, and progress notes.
- Ensure confidentiality and ethical management of patient information.
- Prepare discharge summaries and treatment recommendations when required.
Quality & Compliance
- Follow hospital policies, ethical guidelines, and NABH standards.
- Participate in departmental meetings, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Attend professional development programs, workshops, and continuing education activities.
Community & Awareness Programs
- Participate in mental health awareness campaigns, outreach programs, schools, colleges, and corporate mental health initiatives.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions related to mental health and well-being.
Qualifications
- M.Phil. Clinical Psychology / Psy.D. Clinical Psychology with valid RCI Registration.
- Candidates with experience or training from National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) and SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM) will be given preference.
- Experience in psychiatric hospitals, rehabilitation centers, or mental health settings is preferred.
- Strong skills in psychological assessment, psychotherapy, and multidisciplinary patient care.

Additional Responsibilities

- Support teleconsultation and online counseling services when required.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 per month
