Head – Finance, Accounts & Compliance (Financial Controller)

Role Purpose
To lead and strengthen the organization’s Finance, Accounts, Taxation, Compliance, Audit, Banking, Costing, and Financial Control functions while building systems, governance, and reporting standards aligned with world-class manufacturing organizations.
The role shall act as the single point of accountability for financial integrity, statutory compliance, risk management, internal controls, financial planning, and stakeholder confidence, ensuring the company remains fully compliant, scalable, investor-ready, and capable of supporting future expansion, institutional funding, strategic partnerships, and eventual IPO readiness.
Key Responsibilities
1. Finance Leadership & Governance
- Lead the complete Finance and Accounts function across the organization..
- Establish and maintain strong financial governance frameworks..
- Develop finance policies, SOPs, delegation matrices, and internal control systems..
- Build a culture of accountability, transparency, compliance, and ethical conduct..
- Drive adoption of industry best practices in financial management..
2. Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely closure of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts..
- Oversee preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards..
- Review balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flow statements, and management reports..
- Ensure integrity, completeness, and accuracy of financial records..
- Implement robust financial reporting and dashboard systems for management decision-making..
3. Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Design, implement, and continuously strengthen internal financial controls..
- Identify operational, financial, compliance, and fraud risks..
- Conduct periodic control reviews and corrective action programs..
- Develop risk mitigation frameworks across finance-related processes..
- Ensure segregation of duties and control mechanisms across the organization..
4. Costing & Manufacturing Finance
- Establish strong product costing and cost-control systems..
- Monitor manufacturing costs, overhead absorption, inventory valuation, wastage, and process efficiencies..
- Analyze product profitability, contribution margins, and cost improvement opportunities..
- Partner with Operations and Procurement teams to improve financial performance..
- Drive cost optimization initiatives without compromising compliance or quality..
5. Direct & Indirect Taxation
- Oversee all Direct Tax and Indirect Tax matters..
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, Customs, and other applicable regulations..
- Manage tax planning, tax assessments, notices, appeals, and reconciliations..
- Coordinate with tax consultants and legal advisors..
- Ensure accurate and timely statutory filings..
6. Audit Management
- Act as primary coordinator for:.

- ◦ Cost Audits.
- ◦ Due Diligence Audits.
- ◦ Investor Audits.
- ◦ Regulatory Audits.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and compliance gaps..
- Build an audit-ready organization..
7. Banking, Treasury & Working Capital Management
- Manage banking relationships and financial institutions..
- Lead fund management, treasury operations, and cash flow planning..
- Monitor working capital, receivables, payables, inventory funding, and debt servicing..
- Support negotiations for credit facilities, term loans, and banking arrangements..
- Ensure optimal utilization of financial resources..
8. Compliance & Regulatory Affairs
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable financial and corporate regulations..
- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and assess organizational impact..
- Coordinate with Company Secretaries, Legal Advisors, Consultants, and Regulatory Authorities..
- Maintain compliance calendars and governance frameworks..
9. ERP, Systems & Digital Transformation
- Lead finance digitization and process automation initiatives..
- Drive effective utilization of ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent systems..
- Improve reporting automation, data accuracy, and process controls..
- Support implementation of technology-driven finance practices..
10. Strategic Finance & Business Partnering
- Support management in strategic planning and business decision-making..
- Develop financial models, scenario planning, and investment evaluations..
- Assist leadership in expansion planning, capital expenditure analysis, and growth initiatives..
- Support mergers, acquisitions, investor discussions, and fundraising initiatives where applicable..
11. Investor & Future Readiness
- Build systems and reporting frameworks aligned with institutional investor expectations..
- Develop governance structures that support future private equity, strategic investment, or public market opportunities..
- Maintain financial discipline and transparency standards expected from professionally managed organizations..
- Support due diligence requirements and data room preparation..
12. Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead and develop the Finance & Accounts team..
- Establish performance standards and competency development plans..
- Mentor team members and strengthen organizational finance capability..
- Ensure continuity planning and succession development within the department..

Qualification Requirements
Essential
- Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory..
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline..
Preferred
- CA with additional qualifications such as:.

- ◦ CS (Company Secretary).
- ◦ MBA Finance.
- ◦ CFA (Level I/II/III).
- ◦ Certification in Risk Management, Internal Audit, or ERP Systems.
Experience Requirements
- 12–18 years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounts..
- Minimum 5 years in a senior finance leadership role..

Authority Level
The position shall function as the organization’s highest finance authority below the Managing Director and shall be accountable for all financial governance, compliance, control, reporting, taxation, audit, treasury, and finance process excellence activities.
Pay: ₹630,051.47 - ₹2,010,659.19 per year
