Lead Software Engineer – Node.js / MERNAbout the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on Lead Software Engineer – Node.js / MERN to join our engineering team in Mohali, Punjab.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Node.js, MERN/MEAN stack, AWS, microservices, backend architecture, and system design, along with the ability to mentor developers and take ownership of technical decisions.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will be involved in architecture, development, code reviews, problem-solving, and guiding the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Node.js and MERN/MEAN technologies.
- Take ownership of backend architecture and complex technical challenges.
- Design and review High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD).
- Develop scalable and secure REST APIs and backend services.
- Design and implement microservices-based applications.
- Work with AWS to build, deploy, and maintain cloud-based applications.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure high standards of code quality and maintainability.
- Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability issues.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, Design, and other engineering teams.
- Participate in technical planning, estimation, and architectural discussions.
- Troubleshoot complex application and production issues.
- Mentor junior and senior developers and promote engineering best practices.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend technical improvements where appropriate.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- 7–10 years of overall software development experience.
- 2–3+ years of experience in technical leadership, team leadership, or mentoring developers.
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js.
- Strong experience with MERN or MEAN stack.
- Strong understanding of backend development and REST APIs.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Practical experience working with AWS/cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of HLD, LLD, and System Design.
- Good knowledge of database design, optimization, and performance.
- Experience with Git and code review practices.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Ability to make technical decisions and take ownership of projects.
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
