About the Role
Meluha International School is seeking a dynamic, empathetic, and results-driven Senior Admissions Counsellor to lead parent counselling and admission conversion initiatives. This role is pivotal in helping prospective families make informed educational decisions by understanding their aspirations, addressing their concerns, and guiding them through the admissions journey.
The ideal candidate will combine exceptional counselling abilities with a consultative sales approach to build trust, provide accurate information, and convert qualified enquiries into successful admissions. The role demands excellent interpersonal skills, strong follow-up discipline, and a commitment to delivering an outstanding parent experience while consistently achieving admission targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Parent Counselling
- Counsel prospective parents to understand their child's academic background, learning needs, emotional development, career aspirations, commuting preferences, preferred curriculum, budget considerations, and long-term educational goals.
- Provide comprehensive information about the school's curriculum, teaching methodology, academic programmes, fee structure, infrastructure, student support services, extracurricular activities, safety measures, and career pathways.
- Tailor counselling sessions according to different grade segments, including:
- Primary School
- Middle School
- Grades IX–X
- Grades XI–XII
- Build confidence and trust by providing transparent, accurate, and personalised guidance throughout the admission process.
- Address parent concerns regarding:
- Fee structure
- Distance and transportation
- Curriculum and board selection
- Academic performance
- Competitive environment
- Peer learning
- School comparisons
- Career opportunities and higher education pathways
- Recommend suitable academic programmes based on the student's individual needs and future aspirations.
2. Admission Conversion
- Engage with prospective parents through phone calls, walk-ins, enquiries, and digital channels.
- Convert qualified enquiries into scheduled campus visits and counselling appointments.
- Conduct professional campus tours showcasing the school's academic environment, infrastructure, facilities, and student experience.
- Guide parents through the admission process from enquiry to enrolment.
- Conduct timely and structured follow-ups after campus visits to encourage application submission and admission confirmation.
- Coordinate with Principals, Vice Principals, Academic Coordinators, and faculty members whenever detailed academic discussions are required.
- Identify barriers to admission and proactively address parent objections through effective counselling techniques.
- Maintain consistent communication until admission closure or documented loss of opportunity.
3. CRM Management & Reporting
- Accurately record every parent interaction in the school's CRM and admission management system.
- Maintain updated records of:
- Lead status
- Parent requirements
- Follow-up schedules
- Parent concerns
- Next action plans
- Admission probability
- Final outcomes
- Ensure complete and accurate documentation of all enquiries and counselling activities.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports covering:
- Parent interactions
- Calls made
- Campus visits scheduled and completed
- Applications received
- Admissions confirmed
- Pending follow-ups
- Lost admissions and reasons
- Share admission progress reports and pipeline updates with the Head of Marketing and Management.
4. Parent Experience & Relationship Management
- Deliver a professional, responsive, and personalised experience to every prospective family.
- Respond promptly to parent enquiries through phone, email, WhatsApp, and in-person interactions.
- Ensure all communication is accurate, transparent, respectful, and aligned with school policies.
- Avoid overpromising or providing misleading information.
- Coordinate with Accounts, Transport, Academics, Administration, and Residential teams to resolve parent queries efficiently.
- Build long-term trust and maintain positive relationships throughout the admission journey.
5. Collaboration & Institutional Support
- Work closely with the Marketing team to maximise enquiry conversion and admissions.
- Coordinate with digital marketing teams regarding lead quality and campaign feedback.
- Participate in school events, open houses, education fairs, orientation programmes, and admission drives.
- Support institutional branding initiatives by representing the school professionally at all times.
- Provide market intelligence regarding competitor schools, parent expectations, and admission trends to support strategic planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Education, Psychology, Communications, or a related field.
- Master's Degree will be an added advantage.
- Certifications in Sales, Counselling, Customer Relationship Management, or Communication Skills will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in Admissions Counselling, Education Sales, Student Recruitment, Customer Success, Relationship Management, or Premium Service Sales.
- Prior experience in CBSE, ICSE, IB, Cambridge, International Schools, Universities, EdTech organisations, or educational institutions will be highly preferred.
- Proven track record of achieving admission or sales conversion targets.
- Experience in handling high-value parent interactions and consultative sales processes will be an added advantage.
