Specialist Assistant Manager- Financial Controllership- Hyderabad
Work you’ll do - As an Specialist Assistant Manager in the Financial Controllership team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the NL Controllership team and business partners. You will be responsible for managing core finance processes, delivering insightful reporting, and driving continuous improvement. This role requires strong technical expertise, people management skills, and a focus on process excellence.
The key job responsibilities include the following:
- Lead Monthly Close: Oversee and execute monthly financial close activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies.
- Reporting/Central projects/NSE coordination: Supervise the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements, reconciliations, and other financial overviews to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance. Develop strong hold on the global charges initiative and help streamline the process. Maintain efficient coordination with NSE on cost share charges and end-to-end process of NSE resource funding
- Internal Controls & Risk Management: Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and risk management practices tailored to USI operations, ensuring adherence to regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Project Support & Process Improvement: Drive and support critical projects, central reporting, and proactively identify and implement process improvements, leveraging automation and technology to enhance operational efficiency and control.
- Change Management: Lead or support change management initiatives related to new systems, tools, and process transitions, ensuring smooth adoption and minimal disruption.
- Team Development: Mentor, coach, and train team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Task Delegation & Oversight: Delegate key responsibilities, provide guidance to junior team members, and conduct quality reviews to ensure high standards of work and accountability.
- Operational Control: Maintain overall operational oversight within the team, ensuring strict adherence to established policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Utilization & Feedback Tracking: Maintain utilization trackers to monitor team performance, engagement, and resource allocation.
Work Location: Hyderabad
Shift Timings: 11 am – 8 pm
The team
The Financial Controllership team in Hyderabad manages the end-to-end month-end close process, financial reporting, and provides support for ad hoc projects and financial tool testing to ensure process compliance. The team also plays a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and analytical activities that underpin the organization’s financial health and business strategy. By assisting stakeholders in decision-making and maintaining effective controls, the team adds significant value. They conduct variance analyses to highlight how actual performance compares to budgets and rolling forecasts, and deliver comprehensive Key Performance Indicator dashboards to stakeholders
Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s degree in finance/Accounting

Effective communication skills (written and verbal), problem solving and decision-making skills

Minimum 5 years of experience in financial reporting/ accounting with quick learning skills

Strong accounting knowledge

Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects to meet deadlines

Experience in supervising or mentoring team members.

Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in diverse, cross-functional teams
Preferred:
- Experience in the Finance domain, preferably within a multinational or Big 4 environment.

Proficiency with SAP S4, Analysis for Office, and advanced MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint).

Experience in financial budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Experience working with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI)
