Job Description – Junior HR Generalist

Position: Junior HR Generalist – Factory HR
Location: Behala Factory, Kolkata
Department: Human Resources
Reporting To: Head Office HR / Factory HR Management
Experience: 1–3 years in HR, preferably in a manufacturing/factory environment

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Junior HR Generalist to be based at our Behala Factory, supporting the HR operations of a high-end fashion garment manufacturing unit for the Label Anamika Khanna. The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day HR operations at the factory, including employee data management, attendance, documentation, grievance handling, compliance coordination, and supporting recruitment activities.

The role will work closely with the Head Office HR team in Topsia for recruitment, employee-related matters, policies, and other HR requirements, while ensuring smooth HR support for the factory's specialised garment manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities1. HR Data & Documentation

Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, and HR databases.
Handle day-to-day HR data entries and documentation.
Ensure employee records are updated and properly maintained.
Prepare and maintain HR reports as required by the Head Office.
Support documentation related to joining, transfers, exits, leave, attendance, etc.

2. Attendance & Leave Management

Monitor daily attendance and absenteeism of factory employees.
Maintain and verify attendance records and biometric data.
Coordinate with the Head Office HR team regarding attendance discrepancies.
Track leave, late coming, early departures, and other attendance-related matters.
Assist in preparing attendance inputs for payroll processing.

3. Employee Grievance Handling

Act as the first point of contact for employee queries and day-to-day HR concerns.
Listen to and address employee grievances professionally.
Escalate sensitive or unresolved matters to the Senior HR/Head Office HR team.
Maintain appropriate records of employee grievances and their resolution.
Promote a positive and disciplined work environment at the factory.

4. Recruitment & Hiring Coordination

Support the hiring requirements of the Behala Factory, particularly for blue-collar and factory-level positions.
Coordinate recruitment requirements and candidate information with the Head Office HR team.
Assist with candidate sourcing, calling, interview scheduling, and follow-ups.
Coordinate joining formalities and documentation for selected candidates.
Maintain recruitment and joining trackers.

5. HR Compliance & Factory HR Operations

Support the HR team in ensuring adherence to company policies and applicable labour laws.
Maintain statutory and employee-related records as required.
Coordinate with Head Office HR for compliance-related documentation and requirements.
Assist during internal audits, inspections, and HR documentation reviews.
Ensure proper implementation of HR processes at the factory level.

6. Employee Engagement & HR Coordination

Support employee engagement activities at the factory.
Communicate HR policies, notices, and important updates to employees.
Coordinate with factory supervisors and management regarding employee-related matters.
Assist in maintaining discipline and proper workplace practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
1–3 years of experience in HR operations; factory/manufacturing HR experience will be preferred.
Good knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
Strong data-entry and documentation skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle employee grievances with patience and professionalism.
Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee information.
Comfortable working in a factory/production environment.
Knowledge of attendance, payroll inputs, recruitment, and basic labour-law compliance will be an advantage.

Ideal Candidate

Note: The position is primarily based at the Behala Factory and requires regular coordination with the Head Office HR team at Topsia.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
