About Pacific Pearl Holidays

Pacific Pearl Holidays is a Destination Management Company (DMC) specialising in Australia and New Zealand. We work with travel agents, tour operators and corporate partners to provide FIT holidays, customised itineraries, group tours, MICE and incentive travel, educational tours and other ground-handling services.

We are looking for an energetic and relationship-driven Area Sales Manager – Kolkata to strengthen our presence in Kolkata and the Eastern India travel trade market.

Key Responsibilities

The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and growing Pacific Pearl Holidays' B2B business across the assigned territory.

Travel Agent Sales & Business Development

Regularly visit travel agencies, tour operators and other B2B travel partners across Kolkata and surrounding markets.
Introduce and promote Pacific Pearl Holidays and our Australia & New Zealand products and services.
Develop new travel agent accounts and maintain strong relationships with existing partners.
Generate new FIT, group, MICE, incentive and special-interest travel enquiries.
Identify travel agents with strong potential for Australia and New Zealand business.
Conduct regular sales calls, meetings and presentations with travel partners.
Follow up with agents on quotations, pending enquiries and potential bookings.
Work towards monthly and quarterly sales and enquiry-generation targets.

Market Development

Increase awareness of Pacific Pearl Holidays among travel agents in Kolkata and Eastern India.
Develop business opportunities in West Bengal and other potential Eastern India markets.
Identify new travel agencies and maintain an organised database of potential and existing partners.
Understand competitor activity, market pricing and current Australia/New Zealand travel trends.
Provide regular feedback to management regarding market requirements, agent feedback and potential opportunities.
Assist with sales events, roadshows, agent networking events, presentations and trade activities when required.

Relationship Management

Build long-term relationships with travel agents rather than focusing only on individual transactions.
Maintain regular contact with key accounts.
Support agents with destination knowledge and help them understand the range of products Pacific Pearl Holidays can offer.
Coordinate closely with our reservations, operations and costing teams to ensure enquiries are followed up efficiently.
Encourage repeat business and increase the number of active travel agent partners.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum 2–3 years of experience in travel sales, B2B travel, outbound tourism, DMC sales or a related travel industry role.
Existing relationships with travel agents in Kolkata/Eastern India will be a strong advantage.
Good communication and presentation skills.
Comfortable visiting travel agents regularly and conducting face-to-face sales meetings.
Self-motivated and able to manage an assigned sales territory independently.
Good follow-up and relationship-management skills.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, email and CRM/reporting systems.
Good written and spoken English.
Knowledge of Australia and New Zealand as travel destinations will be an advantage but is not mandatory.
Bengali and Hindi language skills will be an advantage.
Graduate preferred; however, relevant travel industry experience will be given greater importance.

Travel Requirements

This is a field-sales-oriented position. The candidate should be comfortable travelling regularly within Kolkata and to surrounding cities/markets as required.

Approved business travel expenses will be reimbursed as per company policy.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Performance will primarily be measured on:

Number of travel agents contacted and visited
Number of new travel agent relationships developed
Number and quality of enquiries generated
Conversion of enquiries into confirmed bookings
Revenue generated from the assigned territory
Growth of existing travel agent accounts
Regularity of follow-ups and agent engagement
Market feedback and reporting
Achievement of monthly and quarterly sales targets
