Job Description: Account Assistant

Position: Account Assistant

Department: Accounts & Finance

Location: Delhi

Reporting To: Accounts Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Account Assistant with working knowledge of import/export documentation, inventory accounting, and GST compliance to support the day-to-day finance and accounts operations of the company.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

Maintain day-to-day accounting entries in Tally/ERP software (sales, purchases, receipts, payments, journal entries)

Prepare and maintain ledgers, bank reconciliation statements, and party reconciliation

Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities

GST & Taxation

Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9) within due dates

Reconcile GSTR-2A/2B with purchase register for accurate Input Tax Credit (ITC) claims

Maintain GST-compliant invoices, debit/credit notes, and e-way bills

Coordinate with consultants/auditors for GST assessments and audits

Stay updated on GST rate changes, HSN/SAC codes, and compliance notifications

Import/Export Documentation

Prepare and verify import/export documents such as invoices, packing lists, bill of lading/airway bill, shipping bills, and bill of entry

Coordinate with customs house agents (CHA) and freight forwarders for clearance formalities

Handle LC (Letter of Credit), BRC (Bank Realization Certificate), and other export incentive documentation (RODTEP, drawback, etc.)

Ensure compliance with DGFT, customs, and FEMA regulations related to import/export transactions

Track import duty payments, IGST on imports, and customs clearance costs

Inventory Management

Maintain accurate stock records and reconcile physical stock with book stock

Record stock inward/outward entries linked to purchase and sales invoices

Assist in periodic stock audits and valuation

Coordinate with warehouse/store teams for stock discrepancies

General

Support statutory audits, internal audits, and GST audits with required data

Assist in TDS calculations and return filings, if required

Prepare MIS reports related to sales, purchases, stock, and taxation

Handle vendor and customer account reconciliations

Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) or related field; additional certification in GST/Taxation preferred

1–3 years of experience in accounts, preferably in an import/export or trading company

Working knowledge of GST laws, return filing, and ITC reconciliation

Familiarity with import/export documentation and customs procedures

Proficiency in Tally ERP/Prime, MS Excel, and accounting software

Understanding of inventory/stock accounting

Good communication and coordination skills

Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
