Job Title: Product Development & Market Research Executive

Job Summary

We are looking for a creative, analytical, and market-oriented Product Development & Market Research Executive who can identify market opportunities, understand customer needs, analyse competitors, and support the development and improvement of innovative hygiene and personal care products.

The ideal candidate will work closely with R&D, Production, Quality, Marketing, Sales, and Management teams to convert market insights into commercially viable product opportunities.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Development

Identify opportunities for new product development based on market trends and customer requirements.
Conduct research on new product concepts, ingredients, materials, packaging, and product formats.
Coordinate with R&D and production teams during product development and trials.
Collect and analyse customer feedback for existing products.
Suggest improvements in product quality, functionality, packaging, and usability.
Support product testing, sampling, trials, and product launch activities.
Prepare product development briefs, specifications, and documentation.
Track product development timelines and ensure activities are completed as planned.
Coordinate with suppliers for new materials, ingredients, packaging, and product components.
Evaluate product feasibility based on cost, quality, market demand, and production capability.

Market Research

Conduct regular market research to identify emerging trends in hygiene and personal care.
Analyse customer preferences, buying behaviour, and changing market requirements.
Monitor competitor products, pricing, packaging, features, promotions, and positioning.
Conduct competitor benchmarking and prepare comparison reports.
Identify market gaps and opportunities for new products.
Collect information through customer interactions, retailer/distributor feedback, online research, surveys, and market visits.
Track industry developments related to sustainability, plant-based products, eco-friendly solutions, and personal care.
Prepare market research reports and present key findings to management.

Product Launch & Marketing Support

Support the development of product concepts and positioning for new launches.
Coordinate with the marketing team for product information, USPs, product descriptions, and promotional content.
Assist in preparing product presentations, brochures, product comparison sheets, and launch materials.
Provide market insights to support pricing and positioning decisions.
Monitor product performance after launch and recommend improvements based on market feedback.

Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with R&D, Quality, Production, Procurement, Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams.
Coordinate product trials and communicate market requirements to relevant teams.
Maintain proper records of product development activities and market research findings.
Participate in customer meetings, distributor interactions, exhibitions, and industry events when required.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field.
1+ years of experience in product development, market research, FMCG, personal care, hygiene, consumer products, or a related industry.
Strong understanding of market research and competitor analysis.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Good knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and research tools.
Ability to collect, analyse, and interpret market data.
Willingness to travel for market visits, customer interactions, exhibitions, and research activities.

Strong curiosity about consumer behaviour and market trends.
Creative thinker who can generate practical product ideas.
Data-driven and comfortable working with market information.
Good understanding of FMCG/personal care/hygiene products will be an advantage.
Knowledge of sustainable, plant-based, and eco-friendly product trends will be preferred.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Strong ownership and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
