Job Title: MTF Risk & Business Executive

Location: Mumbai

Department: MTF Segment

Job Summary:

We are looking for a proactive and analytical professional to manage our Margin Trading Facility

(MTF) operations while driving business growth. The role involves monitoring risk exposure,

ensuring regulatory compliance, and working closely with the sales team to promote MTF

adoption among clients. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of equity

markets, risk management, and client engagement.

MTF Promotion – Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategies to promote MTF (Margin Trading Facility) among eligible clients.
Identify potential clients based on their trading activity and portfolio behaviour.
Work closely with Sales, Relationship Managers, Branches, and Dealers to increase MTF adoption.
Conduct product awareness and training sessions for internal sales teams.
Explain MTF benefits, funding costs, margin requirements, and associated risks to clients.
Develop campaigns and initiatives to increase MTF activation and utilization.
Monitor MTF sales performance, client activation, utilization, and revenue.
Identify new opportunities to increase the MTF book size and profitability.
Ensure all MTF promotional activities comply with applicable SEBI, exchange, and internal compliance requirements.
Focus on responsible MTF promotion while maintaining appropriate risk controls.

MTF Risk Management – Key Responsibilities

Monitor client-level and overall MTF exposure on a daily basis.
Monitor margin utilization, margin shortfalls, and MTM losses and ensure timely action.
Set and monitor appropriate client, security, and portfolio-level exposure limits.
Identify and manage concentration risk across clients, stocks, and sectors.
Monitor the liquidity and volatility of securities funded under MTF.
Identify high-risk accounts and escalate them to the Risk/Compliance team.
Ensure timely margin calls and position reduction/liquidation as per internal policy and applicable regulations.
Monitor collateral and ensure adequate margin is maintained.
Assess the impact of market volatility on MTF positions and overall portfolio risk.
Review and recommend suitable securities for MTF based on risk parameters.
Develop daily MTF risk MIS covering exposure, margin shortfalls, concentration, and high-risk positions.
Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Compliance, and Technology teams to resolve risk-related issues.
Ensure all MTF activities remain within approved regulatory and internal risk limits.
Strengthen risk controls and processes to minimize client default, market, liquidity, operational, and compliance risks.

MTF Compliance – Key Responsibilities:

Ensure all MTF activities comply with applicable SEBI, stock exchange, and internal regulatory requirements.
Maintain strong knowledge of MTF-related regulatory circulars, margin requirements, eligible securities, exposure limits, and client-level requirements.
Ensure proper client consent, documentation, disclosures, and MTF activation procedures are completed.
Monitor compliance with approved MTF policies, SOPs, and risk limits.
Regularly review regulatory updates and assess their impact on MTF operations.
Coordinate with Compliance, Risk, Operations, Legal, and Technology teams for implementation of regulatory requirements.
Ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting and record maintenance.
Identify compliance gaps, investigate exceptions, and ensure timely corrective action.
Monitor MTF transactions and client accounts for policy or regulatory breaches.
Ensure appropriate client communication regarding margin requirements, funding costs, risks, and applicable MTF terms.
Support internal, statutory, and regulatory audits and inspections.
Conduct periodic reviews of MTF processes to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
Ensure any changes in regulatory requirements are properly incorporated into systems, processes, and SOPs.

Summary : Drive MTF business growth by identifying eligible clients, developing promotional strategies, coordinating with sales teams, conducting product awareness initiatives, and increasing MTF activation and utilization while ensuring compliance and risk controls.

Ensure end-to-end MTF operations comply with applicable SEBI, stock exchange, and internal regulatory requirements, including client documentation, disclosures, margin requirements, eligible securities, exposure limits, reporting, and record maintenance. Coordinate with Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Technology teams to identify and resolve compliance gaps and implement regulatory changes.
