Job Description
The KYC Operations Senior Manager is a senior management-level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department to provide Anti-Money Laundering (AML) monitoring, governance, oversight, and regulatory reporting services in coordination with the Compliance and Control team. The overall objective of this role is to drive the development and management of a dedicated internal KYC (Know Your Client) program at Citi. KYC Block Prevention & Closure team is responsible for proactively reviewing, auditing, and managing KYC records to prevent customer account restrictions, blocks, and closures resulting from incomplete KYC requirements. Deals with problems independently and has latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth disciplinary knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the subfunction as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Requires good analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information.
Responsibilities:
Provide senior oversight of KYC Operations teams, senior point of escalation for the team and its stakeholders, represent the KYC function in senior management discussions and key stakeholder meeting across the business, compliance and operations and serve as central point of coordination for vendor strategy and third-party interactions.
Serve as a key contributor to the Global KYC strategy, partnering with global management to design and implement a target operating model across people, process, and technology.
Represent the KYC function in senior management discussions and key stakeholder meetings across business, compliance, and operations, fostering strong cross-functional relationships.
Ensure robust governance of all tasks and processes, driving compliance with internal AML/KYC policies and external laws and regulations.
Partner with global Compliance and KYC teams to interpret and implement new Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies, developing consistent and standardized global processes.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement by leading transformation projects, process re-engineering, and system enhancements to strengthen the control environment and increase operational efficiency.
Champion the integration and utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of KYC and AML monitoring processes.
Appropriately assess risk in all business decisions, with particular consideration for the firm's reputation and the safeguarding of its clients and assets, while transparently managing and reporting control issues.
Develop and manage the ongoing KYC training plan to enhance staff knowledge; assume a formal leadership role in coaching and training team members.
Manage the KYC Operations project book of work, including strategic program rollouts, and assess the operational impact of technology and policy changes.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on complex KYC/AML matters, providing authoritative guidance to senior stakeholders, team members, and in exception handling scenarios.
Serve as the central point of coordination for vendor strategy and manage all third-party interactions related to the KYC function.
Drive efficiencies through the strategic utilization of low-cost centers for data management and by establishing best-in-class risk management practices for a robust processing environment.
Operate with a high degree of autonomy, exercising independent judgment and latitude to resolve complex problems and evaluate variable issues with substantial potential impact.
Qualifications:
15+ years of experience in KYC/AML process, compliance, operations, risk & control functions but also able to work independently, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across levels, businesses, and geographies
Highly motivated, persistent, and able to work in a structured, high volume, time sensitive, high-risk environment
Capable of multitasking and eager to learn multiple products in a challenging environment. Fast learner, strong attention to detail, and willingness to go extra mile
Proficient in handling urgent and escalation cases and manage internal team expectations
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Open to work in Night shifts.
