Job Description (JD) – Accounts Head

Position - Accounts Head

Department - Finance & Accounts

Reporting To - Chief Financial Officer (CFO) / Managing Director

Location - As per Company Requirement

Job Summary

The Accounts Head will be responsible for leading the Finance and Accounts function of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, budgeting, cash flow management, taxation, and internal financial controls. The role requires strategic financial planning while ensuring day-to-day accounting operations are managed efficiently and in compliance with applicable laws and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

Oversee the complete accounting function, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Fixed Assets.
Ensure timely closure of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Prepare Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Account, Cash Flow Statements, and MIS reports.
Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and applicable financial regulations.
Conduct monthly financial reviews and variance analysis.

Taxation & Statutory Compliance

Ensure timely filing of GST returns, TDS returns, Income Tax, Professional Tax, and other statutory compliances.
Handle GST reconciliations and audits.
Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities.
Ensure compliance with Companies Act, Income Tax Act, GST Act, and other applicable laws.

Budgeting & Financial Planning

Prepare annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
Monitor departmental budgets and expenditures.
Conduct financial analysis for cost optimization and profitability improvement.
Support management in strategic financial decision-making.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

Monitor daily cash flow and working capital requirements.
Manage banking relationships and credit facilities.
Plan fund utilization and optimize liquidity.
Supervise vendor payments and customer collections.

Payroll & Employee Benefits

Oversee payroll accounting and statutory deductions.
Ensure compliance with PF, ESIC, PT, Labour Welfare Fund, Bonus, and Gratuity provisions.
Coordinate with the HR department for payroll accuracy.

Internal Controls & Audit

Develop and implement robust internal financial controls.
Ensure adherence to company financial policies.
Coordinate statutory, tax, and internal audits.
Address audit observations and implement corrective actions.

Team Management

Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounts & Finance team.
Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
Build efficient accounting processes and improve productivity.

MIS & Business Support

Prepare management reports and financial dashboards.
Analyze business performance and recommend corrective actions.
Support tendering, pricing, and commercial evaluations.
Provide financial insights to management for strategic planning.

Experience

10–15 years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounts.
Minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing the complete finance function.
Experience in Manufacturing, Infrastructure, EPC, Facility Management, Security Services, or Renewable Energy industries will be preferred.
Experience in handling multi-state operations and statutory compliances is an added advantage.

Tally Prime
SAP / Oracle ERP / Microsoft Dynamics
Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Dashboards)
MS Office Suite
Power BI (Preferred)
