Full job description

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Sewing Line Incharge to oversee daily operations of a garment sewing line. The Sewing Line Incharge will be responsible for ensuring production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are achieved while maintaining efficient workflow and operator productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily activities of sewing operators on the production line.
Ensure production targets are achieved according to the approved production plan.
Monitor line efficiency, output, and operator performance.
Allocate work among operators based on skills and production requirements.
Ensure garments are produced according to approved quality standards and specifications.
Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, machine issues, and workflow disruptions.
Coordinate with Quality Control, Cutting, Finishing, and Maintenance departments to maintain smooth production flow.
Conduct line balancing to maximize productivity and minimize idle time.
Train and guide sewing operators on proper sewing methods and quality requirements.
Monitor attendance, discipline, and workplace safety within the line.
Ensure proper handling of materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished garments.
Maintain daily production records and submit reports to the Production Supervisor or Production Manager.
Support implementation of continuous improvement and productivity enhancement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in garment manufacturing is an advantage.
2–5 years of experience in garment sewing operations, including supervisory or leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of garment construction, sewing processes, and production flow.
Ability to manage and motivate production teams.
Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Basic understanding of production targets, line balancing, and quality control procedures.
Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in woven, knitwear, or apparel manufacturing.
Knowledge of SMV (Standard Minute Value) and productivity measurement.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices.
Basic computer skills for production reporting.
