About the role.

The Business Development Executive is responsible for driving sales growth, expanding distribution reach, and delivering best-in-class execution across the assigned territory of Siliguri. This role focuses on achieving sales targets, strengthening market coverage, managing distributors effectively, maintaining commercial and stock hygiene, and building strong relationships with distributors, sales teams, promoters, and internal stakeholders. The position plays a critical role in expanding business opportunities, improving market penetration, and ensuring operational excellence within the assigned geography.

What you’ll be doing.

Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets in line with agreed business objectives.
Develop sales plans, forecasts, and target allocations for distributors and Territory Sales Incharges (TSIs) at the beat level.
Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions to minimize variances against targets.
Identify growth opportunities and appoint distributors in line with business expansion strategies.
Plan and allocate field resources based on market potential and coverage requirements.
Execute secondary sales plans across territories, distributors, brands, and SKUs.
Conduct regular performance reviews and joint commercial meetings with TSIs to drive business outcomes.
Ensure effective distribution management, including market coverage, product availability, visibility, freshness, and stock rotation.
Drive implementation and compliance of Distributor Management System (DMS) processes and billing across distributor partners.
Execute trade promotions, consumer activations, and localized marketing initiatives to support business growth.
Monitor competitive activity and provide market intelligence and recommendations to leadership.
Train and support distributors on systems, processes, commercial policies, and service standards.
Review distributor financial health, including inventory pipeline, outstanding balances, and operational efficiency.
Ensure 100% freezer scanning compliance and adherence to freezer governance standards.

What you’ll need to be successful.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in sales, distribution, or business development, preferably within the FMCG industry.
Strong understanding of business planning, sales forecasting, and stock management.
Demonstrated ability to identify and develop new business opportunities, geographies, channels, and distribution partners.
Experience managing distributors, including financial evaluation, commercial policies, investments, and ROI assessment.
Strong knowledge of market dynamics, shopper behavior, and trade practices.
Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build effective working relationships.
Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving capabilities.
Proficiency in sales systems, reporting tools, and Distributor Management Systems (DMS).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and execution skills.

The Business Development Executive will be part of the Sales organization and will work closely with Territory Sales Incharges (TSIs), distributors, promoters, and regional leadership teams. The role collaborates cross-functionally to deliver sales objectives, distribution excellence, and market growth across the assigned territory while contributing to broader commercial goals.
