Designation: Accountant – GST & Taxation
Department: Accounts & Finance
Experience: 2–5 Years
Salary: 25,000- 30,000 per month
Location: As per company requirement
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reporting To: Accounts Manager / Management

Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Accountant with strong knowledge of GST, GST return filing, taxation, and day-to-day accounting activities. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate books of accounts, handling GST compliance, preparing returns, reconciliations, and supporting the finance team in statutory and accounting-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

GST & Taxation

Handle complete GST compliance and return filing process.
Prepare and file GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and other applicable GST returns.
Reconcile GSTR-2B with purchase records/books and identify discrepancies.
Verify GST input tax credit (ITC) and ensure proper accounting.
Handle GST registration, amendments, notices, and other GST-related requirements.
Prepare GST workings and maintain proper GST documentation.
Coordinate with consultants/CA for GST and taxation matters.
Assist in responding to GST notices and departmental queries.
Ensure timely payment of GST and other statutory dues.

Accounting Responsibilities

Maintain day-to-day accounting entries in Tally/ERP software.
Handle purchase, sales, receipt, payment, journal, and expense entries.
Prepare and maintain bank reconciliation statements (BRS).
Reconcile customer and vendor ledgers.
Maintain accounts payable and receivable records.
Verify invoices, supporting documents, and accounting entries.
Prepare monthly outstanding reports and follow up for required reconciliations.
Assist in monthly closing of accounts.
Maintain proper records and documentation for audit purposes.

TDS & Other Compliance

Basic knowledge of TDS calculation, deduction, payment, and return filing.
Assist in preparation of TDS certificates and related documentation.
Support statutory audit, GST audit, and annual audit activities.
Ensure accounting records are maintained as per applicable rules and company policies.

Required Skills

Strong practical knowledge of GST and GST return filing.
Good knowledge of Tally Prime / ERP accounting software.
Knowledge of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2B reconciliation and ITC.
Knowledge of TDS and basic income-tax compliance.
Good knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
Good command of MS Excel.
Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work independently and meet statutory deadlines.

Qualification

B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / equivalent qualification preferred.

Experience

2–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, GST, taxation, and statutory compliance.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

Timely and accurate GST return filing.
Accuracy of GST and ITC reconciliation.
Timely completion of accounting entries.
Accurate bank, customer, and vendor reconciliations.
Timely TDS and statutory compliance.
Zero/minimum compliance errors and penalties.
Proper maintenance of accounting and statutory records.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in GST filing and complete GST processes, along with practical knowledge of day-to-day accounting. Candidates who can independently handle GST returns, reconciliations, TDS, Tally/ERP, and routine accounting activities will be preferred.

Salary: ₹25,000-30,000 per month

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
