Role Overview:
The Financial Accountant will play a key role in managing the end-to-end accounting function across the UK, US, Netherlands, and India. The position covers bookkeeping, month-end closing, accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) management, tax and compliance processes, and the generation of monthly management information (MIS), requiring strong attention to detail and an ability to operate in a multi-currency, multi-entity international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Multi-Entity and International Accounting
o Responsible for accounting and maintaining financial records for group entities in the UK, US, Netherlands, and India.
o Ensure compliance with relevant local accounting standards and group policies.
- Bookkeeping and General Ledger
o Manage the day-to-day bookkeeping for all group companies, ensuring accurate and timely entry of transactions.
o Maintain the general ledger and ensure all accounts are properly reconciled.
o Lead and participate in the month-end close process for all entities, including posting journals, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany transactions.
o Prepare month-end reconciliations and comprehensive balance sheet schedules for each jurisdiction.
- Tax and Compliance Assistance
o Assist with the preparation and submission of tax filings such as VAT, GST, and corporation tax returns in the relevant countries.
o Support statutory audit processes and liaison with external advisors as needed.
o Create and maintain spreadsheets and/or databases to record, monitor, and report financial information, supporting integrity and accuracy in financial records.
- Continuous Improvement & Ad-Hoc Projects
o Identify and implement process improvements in the finance function.
o Support the finance leadership with projects and system enhancements as required.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 7+ years of proven work experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant preferred, with relevant international finance experience.
- Demonstrable experience in bookkeeping, transactional finance, month-end close, and statutory reporting.
- Advanced skills in Excel and experience with major accounting software.
- Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and problem-solving orientation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across different teams and geographies.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
