Assistant Manager - PS Excellence
PeopleSoft R2R Application Support Assistant Manager - PeopleSoft
Provide techno-functional support and testing for PeopleSoft and other financial applications, assisting global finance operations with issues related to key PeopleSoft financial modules such as General Ledger, Allocations, Multi-Currency, Asset Management, and Financial Reporting. This role owns the resolution of complex Record-to-Report (R2R) system issues, leads testing and enhancement initiatives, and partners closely with finance and IT stakeholders to deliver reliable, well-controlled application support across the global finance landscape.
What this job involves
You will be the go-to expert for PeopleSoft R2R support, balancing hands-on technical work with the coordination and stakeholder management expected at the assistant manager level. Day to day, you will address and resolve end-user issues across PeopleSoft modules with a primary focus on Record-to-Report, drawing on strong proficiency in PeopleSoft FSCM (Financials and Supply Chain Management) for R2R. You will diagnose and resolve technical issues within the ERP system environment, execute predefined integrity checks, and perform Business Day (BD) tasks to facilitate month-end closing procedures.
A significant part of the role involves developing and modifying PeopleSoft queries in response to user community requests, and investigating and resolving PeopleSoft security-related issues to ensure proper access controls and data protection. You will apply your understanding of financial accounting principles and the chart of accounts—including general ledger, cost allocation, journal workflows, multi-currency revaluation, translation processes, intercompany transactions, asset management, and financial reporting—to interpret issues accurately and propose sound solutions.
You will also lead quality and improvement efforts: writing and reviewing detailed test scripts across Unit, System, Integration, and User Acceptance Test phases; supporting application enhancement initiatives; and performing functional and regression testing before migration. Beyond reactive support, you are expected to identify, propose, and implement process improvements that enhance system efficiency and the user experience, and to document processes, configurations, and solutions for future reference and knowledge sharing.
As an assistant manager, you will work closely with business stakeholders and IT partners to support the development process, ensuring new digital capabilities and tools meet the Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) defined by the CoE team. This includes carrying out the necessary follow-through research and analysis while managing people and operations to deliver consistently against those objectives.
Skills that will set you up for success
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues effectively; excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders across finance and technical teams; a solid grasp of data security principles and practices to protect financial data; effective time management with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously; and disciplined documentation skills to capture configurations, processes, and solutions.
Sounds like you? To apply you need to be:
A Graduate or Postgraduate in Accounting, IT, or Engineering, with 7–12 years of relevant experience.
Bring a minimum of 5 years in application support and testing of Oracle PeopleSoft Financials, preferably within the R2R module.
Equipped with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically.
Functionally experienced with PeopleSoft General Ledger, Cost Allocation, Journal Processing, Multi-Currency, Translation, Revaluation, Intercompany Transactions, Asset Management, and Financial Reporting.
Technically capable in PS Query, Application Designer, PeopleCode, and App Engine (preferred).
Accounting knowledge and an understanding of R2R processes, period-close activities, intercompany reconciliation, and F&A terminology is an added advantage.
Able to interact and communicate effectively with middle management.
Strong in interpersonal and communication skills.
Comfortable multi-tasking and working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Flexible with shift timings.
