We have a suitable opening in the Operations - Sourcing department for the role of Senior Manager, Sourcing - Raw Materials (RM) based in Mumbai, who will lead the sourcing of a complex portfolio of Raw Materials for L'Oréal’s manufacturing plant in Indonesia
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 - Economic Performance Management
- Cost & Price Control: Maintain rigorous governance over raw material (RM) pricing structures and cost flows entering manufacturing facilities.
- Budgeting: Formulate the annual budget, complete with granular and highly structured variance analyses.
- Trend Tracking: Perform quarterly forecast updates and sensitivity analyses based on evolving market pricing.
- Variance Visibility: Ensure absolute alignment and clear reconciliation between actual Purchase Price Variance (PPV) and projected financial trends.
- Cost Drivers: Develop and maintain deep transparency regarding the underlying cost drivers and feedstocks of key raw materials.
2 - Negotiations and Pricing
- RFx Collaboration: Active participant in the global sourcing process, ensuring plant-level inputs are seamlessly integrated into Worldwide (WW) Buyer RFx tenders.
- Plant Advocacy: Champion local manufacturing needs and constraints to WW Buyers during global negotiations.
- Cost Optimization: Partner with and influence WW Sourcing to secure highly competitive raw material costs for local plants.
- System Integrity: Coordinate with WW Sourcing to guarantee the timely availability and accuracy of approved pricing within internal L’Oréal portals.
- Portfolio Rationalization: Partner with Research & Innovation (R&I) to drive raw material simplification and optimization projects.
- Value Chain Savings: Continuously identify and execute cost-reduction and value-engineering opportunities across the RM value chain.
3 - Supply Chain Security and Agility
- Risk Mitigation: Develop and implement robust Business Continuity Plans (BCP) for all critical raw materials utilized at the plants.
- Supply Reliability: Guarantee a highly resilient and compliant supply chain from approved manufacturers directly to L'Oréal manufacturing sites.
- Launch Security: Secure the supply of raw materials for new formula innovations, launches, and product renovations.
- Production Transfers: Oversee raw material supply risks during manufacturing transfers (insourcing, plant relocations) to maximize supply chain efficiency.
- Crisis Management: Provide immediate, hands-on support and solutions to factories during raw material shortages, supply chain tensions, or market disruptions.
- Inventory Safety: Monitor plant safety stock coverage to ensure compliance with Global Risk Management inventory policies.
4 - Systems & Digitalization
- Reporting & Analytics: Lead the design and deployment of advanced reporting systems and analytical dashboards.
- Process Automation: Identify and execute opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and optimize workflows.
5 - Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
- Consolidator Management: Govern strategic partnerships with Consolidators who facilitate raw material imports and manage localized safety stocks.
- Local Sourcing Network: Build and maintain an active database of localized distributors and stockists to rapidly absorb sudden plant demand surges.
6 - Affiliate Relations: Cultivate strong supplier relationships with the localized affiliates of L'Oréal's globally approved manufacturers.

Expected Qualifiers to apply for the role:
- Experience: At least 8 years of professional life, preferably with 3 years in FMCG sourcing or sourcing of Chemicals
- Education: At least bachelor’s in engineering, MBA Preferred
- Competencies: Data Analytics will be significant advantage for the role
TRAVEL REQUIRED: Approx 20% of time, mostly to countries of the L'Oréal plant.
