About the Role
As a technology-led SaaS company, our ability to scale profitably depends on how effectively we manage and optimize our technology investments. Cloud infrastructure, AI platforms, software subscriptions, product partnerships, and engineering tools represent a significant portion of our operating expenses and directly influence product innovation, customer experience, gross margins, and long-term profitability.
With the rapid adoption of Generative AI and increasing investments in technology platforms, finance teams are expected to provide deeper visibility into cost drivers, forecasting accuracy, vendor economics, and investment returns. Technology Finance is becoming a critical strategic function that enables business leaders to make informed decisions on scaling products while maintaining financial discipline.
We are seeking a highly analytical finance professional to partner closely with Engineering, Product & IT teams. This role will own planning, forecasting, reporting, and optimization of technology-related costs, including cloud hosting, AI/LLM spend, software subscriptions, product partner costs, infrastructure expenses, and other technology investments. The role will act as a bridge between Finance and Technology teams.
This is an opportunity to build a best-in-class Technology Finance function and play a key role in shaping how the company manages cloud, AI, product partner, and other strategic technology investments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technology Cost Management
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and monthly tracking of:
- Cloud hosting costs (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
- AI/LLM costs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, etc.)
- Product partner and third-party platform costs
- SaaS subscriptions and software licenses
- Infrastructure and security tool expenses
- Other technology platform costs
- Build cost centre-level visibility and accountability.
- Identify cost-optimization opportunities and track their realization.
- Monitor unit economics of technology spend.
2. FP&A and Financial Planning
- Lead monthly forecasting and variance analysis for all technology costs.
- Analyse Actual vs Budget vs Forecast variances and provide actionable insights.
- Develop driver-based forecasting models for costs
- Support Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and quarterly re-forecasts.
- Build dashboards and reporting for technology leadership.
3. Vendor & Commercial Finance Support
- Act as finance point of contact for technology vendors and partners.
- Review commercial proposals, renewal quotes, and pricing structures.
- Validate invoices against contracts and actual consumption.
- Analyse vendor spend trends and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Coordinate with business teams during vendor onboarding and renewals.
Business Partnering
- Partner with Engineering leaders, Product team, IT team, and Legal teams
- Challenge spending decisions using ROI and business case analysis.
- Evaluate technology investment proposals.
Required Skills & Experience
Education
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in: FP&A, Business Finance, Commercial Finance. Technology Finance, Procurement Finance
