The Rec & Proofing Rep 5 will be responsible for performing L1 reconciliation activities for the Cash product, including review, investigation, follow-up, and resolution of reconciliation breaks. The role involves handling relatively complex reconciliation assignments with a direct impact on business quality, control, and timely service delivery.
The candidate should have a good working understanding of cash reconciliations, payments investigation, and SWIFT message investigation, with the ability to analyze breaks, identify root causes, coordinate with relevant teams, and support timely closure of outstanding items. The role requires the ability to work with minimal supervision while ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to defined procedures and control expectations.
The candidate should be able to operate key reconciliation and productivity tools such as TLM and Excel, and should be comfortable using AI-enabled tools such as Copilot and Stylus to support productivity, documentation, analysis, and process efficiency. A basic understanding of reporting requirements using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Xceptor-related reporting will be an added advantage.
The role requires working knowledge of technical and professional principles, along with a good understanding of team objectives and how individual responsibilities contribute to the broader unit goals. The candidate should be able to assess reconciliation issues, apply prior experience, evaluate available options, and resolve basic to moderately complex problems based on practice, precedent, and defined procedures.
The individual should demonstrate strong attention to detail, ownership, and quality focus. They may also recommend process improvements to enhance productivity, strengthen controls, and improve overall reconciliation efficiency in line with established guidelines.
The role also requires good communication skills, tact, and diplomacy when exchanging complex or sensitive information with internal stakeholders. The candidate should be able to work in a diverse team environment, adapt to changing priorities, and demonstrate a stress-smart approach while managing volumes, deadlines, and investigation follow-ups.
- L1 reconciliation experience, preferably in Cash product
- Basic understanding of payments investigation
- Working knowledge of SWIFT investigation
- Ability to operate TLM and Excel
- Exposure to AI/productivity tools such as Copilot and Stylus
- Basic understanding of Tableau, Power BI, and Xceptor-related reporting
- Ability to resolve basic to moderately complex reconciliation issues
- Strong focus on quality, control, and timely break resolution
- Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage pressure effectively
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for daily/weekly/monthly reconciliation of ICG/GCG/Internal accounts of various products assigned by the team-head
- Follow up/Escalate with responsible business units on outstanding breaks according to internal procedure
- Respond to customer enquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Report SLA and/or other risk control breaches to the team-head for timely investigation and escalation
- Strictly follow SOPs in daily/weekly/monthly reconciliation
- Participate in self-paced online training or organized classroom training to up-scale one's technical skills
- Adhere to Citi Code of Conduct and information security policies
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years relevant experience in account reconciliation, Finance, Operations in a financial institution preferred
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel
- Self-motivated and detail oriented
- Service oriented with a distinct team-work attitude and ability to attend to details at work
- Able to work under pressure
