We are seeking an experienced Lead Project Engineer to support our global operations by leading the delivery of complex application systems across Microsoft Business Applications, Cloud, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) domains.
The Lead Project Engineer will be responsible for translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions, leading application implementation projects, and providing technical direction throughout the project lifecycle. The role will work closely with business stakeholders, project teams, developers, and other technical professionals to ensure solutions are properly designed, implemented, tested, and delivered.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, solution architecture, Agile/Scrum methodologies, cloud technologies, and AI-driven solutions, combined with strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Technical Leadership
- Lead the technical design and delivery of complex application solutions across Microsoft Business Applications, Cloud, and AI environments.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions.
- Develop solution architectures, technical specifications, integration designs, and implementation plans.
- Evaluate technologies and make technical decisions regarding platforms, architecture, integrations, and development approaches.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and scalability considerations and develop appropriate solutions.
- Establish and maintain technical standards, development practices, and architectural guidelines.
- Provide technical direction to developers and other project team members throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review proposed solutions and implementations to ensure they meet technical and business requirements.
Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Lead and support Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) implementation projects.
- Gather business requirements and translate them into effective D365 solutions.
- Configure and customize D365 applications to support business processes and operational requirements.
- Coordinate system testing, data migration, integrations, deployment, and post-implementation support.
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes through D365 and other Microsoft Business Applications.
- Troubleshoot complex application issues and coordinate appropriate technical resolutions.
- Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and implementation standards.
Agile/Scrum Leadership & Sprint Planning
- Lead Agile/Scrum delivery activities for application development and implementation projects.
- Plan and coordinate development sprints, priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
- Translate requirements into user stories, technical tasks, and actionable development requirements.
- Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Work with product owners and stakeholders to prioritize the backlog based on business needs and project objectives.
- Monitor project progress and address blockers, dependencies, risks, and changing requirements.
- Coordinate development, testing, and deployment activities to ensure projects are delivered on schedule.
Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with business leaders, department managers, project stakeholders, and technical teams to understand business objectives and requirements.
- Act as a key technical point of contact throughout application projects.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear information for non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage expectations regarding project scope, timelines, technical limitations, risks, and deliverables.
- Facilitate communication between business and technical teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and implemented.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers, QA teams, IT personnel, and external technology partners.
- Gather stakeholder feedback and incorporate business priorities into technical solutions.
Cloud & Microsoft Technologies
- Design and support cloud-based application solutions using Microsoft cloud technologies, including Microsoft Azure.
- Support cloud application architecture, integrations, data services, deployment, and scalability.
- Assist with cloud migration and application modernization initiatives.
- Support CI/CD and automated deployment processes where applicable.
- Monitor and optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability within cloud environments.
AI & Generative AI
- Identify opportunities to apply Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI (GenAI), and Large Language Models (LLMs) to business applications and processes.
- Design and support AI-powered solutions that improve automation, productivity, customer experience, and decision-making.
- Integrate AI capabilities into Microsoft Business Applications and internal business systems.
- Develop or oversee solutions such as AI assistants, chatbots, intelligent workflows, and content-generation tools.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend practical applications based on business requirements.
- Ensure AI solutions are designed with appropriate consideration for security, data privacy, scalability, and responsible use.
Application Integration & Development
- Design and oversee integrations between D365, Microsoft Azure, internal applications, databases, APIs, and third-party platforms.
- Develop or oversee the development of custom applications and business solutions.
- Work with APIs, web services, databases, and other enterprise integration technologies.
- Support application testing, troubleshooting, deployment, and ongoing improvement.
- Ensure application solutions are maintainable, reliable, and aligned with established development standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, application implementation, solution architecture, technical project leadership, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation and business applications.
- Experience leading or participating in enterprise application implementation projects.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and sprint-based software delivery.
- Experience designing technical solutions and making architecture-level technical decisions.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.
- Experience with application integrations, APIs, databases, and enterprise software systems.
- Experience working with AI, Generative AI, or Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
Preferred Skills
- Microsoft certifications in Dynamics 365, Azure, Power Platform, or related Microsoft technologies.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
- Experience with D365 Guides.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment.
- Experience developing AI-powered business applications and workflow automation.
- Experience integrating LLMs and AI services into enterprise applications.
- Experience with programming languages such as C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or similar technologies.
