In the lift, elevator and escalator industry, maintenance is not simply a scheduled service visit. It is a continuing responsibility for passenger safety, equipment reliability and customer confidence.
Gilco Global is looking for a technically sound and field-oriented Senior Manager - Maintenance with 3-5 years of direct, hands-on experience in lift, elevator and escalator maintenance operations.
The candidate should have practical experience in preventive maintenance, breakdown troubleshooting, equipment restoration, field-team supervision, AMC operations and customer escalations.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Manager - Maintenance will be responsible for managing the assigned lift, elevator and escalator maintenance portfolio across Delhi/NCR.
The role requires a professional who can plan and monitor preventive maintenance, guide breakdown resolution, supervise field teams, attend critical sites, manage customer escalations and ensure that every unit under maintenance receives timely and technically appropriate attention.
The incumbent will coordinate closely with customers, Technicians, Service Engineers, Supervisors, Project teams, Procurement, Stores, Accounts and Management.
This is not a desk-only position. Regular site visits, technical inspections, maintenance audits and direct involvement in critical breakdowns will form an essential part of the role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance Portfolio and Preventive Maintenance
Take day-to-day ownership of the assigned lift, elevator and escalator maintenance portfolio across Delhi/NCR.
Plan and monitor preventive maintenance schedules and ensure that all assigned units are serviced within the prescribed timelines.
Ensure that maintenance visits are technically complete and supported by the prescribed checklists, observations, photographs and customer acknowledgement.
Maintain visibility over open complaints, pending repairs, repeated faults, shutdown units and customer escalations.
Review equipment history and condition to identify vulnerable or underperforming units and establish corrective action plans.
Conduct periodic site audits to evaluate maintenance quality, equipment condition and technician performance.
Ensure proper examination and maintenance of controllers, drives, motors, brakes, door systems, safety circuits, ARDs, ropes, pulleys, guide systems and associated components.
Breakdown and Technical Support
Monitor breakdown calls from allocation and attendance through diagnosis, restoration and final closure.
Ensure timely deployment of the appropriate Technician, Supervisor or Service Engineer.
Guide the team during difficult breakdowns, recurring faults and prolonged equipment shutdowns.
Personally attend or supervise critical sites where technical complexity, passenger safety or customer escalation requires senior intervention.
Ensure immediate and priority response to passenger-entrapment calls and other operational emergencies.
Conduct root-cause analysis for repeat breakdowns, callbacks, abnormal component failures and long-duration shutdowns.
Ensure that temporary restoration is followed by complete corrective action and is not treated as final closure.
Review technical findings before recommending replacement of major components, upgrades or modernization.
Safety and Compliance
Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with applicable lift regulations, statutory requirements, safety standards and company procedures.
Enforce safe working practices, including prescribed PPE, appropriate barricading, lockout/tagout procedures and controlled access to shafts, pits and machine areas.
Ensure that no safety circuit is bypassed and no unsafe temporary measure is adopted to restore equipment.
Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, rescue drills and technical inspections at the prescribed frequency.
Investigate accidents, near misses, passenger entrapments and unsafe conditions and ensure documented corrective and preventive action.
Immediately stop any activity that could place passengers, employees, equipment or property at risk.
Team Management and Deployment
Supervise and review the performance of the Delhi/NCR maintenance team.
Plan technician routes, duty rosters, leave substitutes, emergency coverage and manpower deployment.
Ensure that field personnel report to assigned sites on time and complete allocated work responsibly.
Monitor individual productivity, attendance, technical competence, work quality, conduct and customer feedback.
Conduct regular operational reviews with Service Engineers, Supervisors and Technicians.
Identify skill gaps and coordinate field training, refresher sessions, toolbox talks and competency assessments.
Participate in the technical evaluation and selection of maintenance personnel whenever required.
Guide the team firmly and respectfully while maintaining accountability and field discipline.
Customer and Commercial Coordination
Act as the senior operational contact for key customers and unresolved service concerns.
Attend customer meetings and service reviews wherever required.
Provide clear, factual and timely updates regarding breakdowns, repairs, equipment condition and restoration timelines.
Present corrective action plans for recurring faults, ageing equipment and critical technical observations.
Resolve customer concerns without making technically unsafe, commercially unapproved or unrealistic commitments.
Monitor AMC validity and support timely renewal discussions in coordination with the concerned teams.
Identify genuine requirements for repairs, component replacement, safety upgrades and modernization.
Provide technical inputs for AMC and repair proposals and coordinate customer approvals, billing certification and collection follow-up wherever required.
Spares, Tools and Cost Control
Forecast requirements for critical and fast-moving spares based on the installed portfolio and breakdown trends.
Coordinate with Procurement and Stores for timely availability of required components.
Review spare issuance, consumption, replacement and return records.
Prevent avoidable replacement, leakage, misuse or unauthorised consumption of spares and company tools.
Ensure that defective components are tagged, documented and returned for technical evaluation wherever required.
Monitor avoidable maintenance costs arising from repeat visits, incorrect diagnosis, poor workmanship or unplanned spare consumption.
Handover, Systems and Reporting
Participate in the formal handover of newly installed or modernized equipment from Projects to Maintenance.
Verify operational readiness and record pending technical observations, documentation gaps and project-related snags before takeover.
Ensure availability of relevant drawings, manuals, test records, warranty information and handover documentation.
Ensure that preventive maintenance visits, breakdowns, inspections and corrective actions are accurately recorded through FieldCircle or any other platform prescribed by the company.
Monitor work-order allocation, technician attendance, response time, closure time, pending tasks and supporting records.
Prevent unsupported, premature or inaccurate closure of work orders.
Prepare periodic MIS covering maintenance completion, equipment uptime, breakdown performance, shutdown units, safety, customer escalations, manpower, spares, AMC status and pending repairs.
QUALIFICATION
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.
Relevant technical certification or specialised lift and elevator training will be an advantage.
MANDATORY EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL EXPOSURE
3-5 years of direct experience in lift, elevator and escalator maintenance or service operations.
Core lift, elevator or vertical-mobility industry experience is mandatory.
Hands-on exposure to preventive maintenance, breakdown troubleshooting, fault diagnosis and equipment restoration.
Working knowledge of elevator controllers, drives, electrical circuits, door systems, safety circuits, ARDs and mechanical components.
Experience supervising field technicians or independently managing an assigned maintenance portfolio.
Ability to read electrical drawings, fault histories, technical manuals and maintenance records.
Experience handling customers, service escalations, repair recommendations and maintenance documentation.
Exposure to different makes of lift and elevator equipment will be preferred.
Exposure to modernization or project-to-maintenance handover will be an advantage.
Working knowledge of digital work orders, field-service systems and operational reporting is required.

LOCATION AND MOBILITY REQUIREMENTS
The candidate should presently reside in Delhi/NCR or be willing to relocate before joining.
Regular travel to customer sites across Delhi/NCR is mandatory.
Availability to guide or support the field team during critical breakdowns and operational emergencies beyond regular working hours is required.
A valid driving licence and independent mobility will be preferred.
