Job Description: Procurement / Purchase Manager (IT)

Location: Kolkata, West Bengal

About the Role

Emdee Digitronics is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement / Purchase Manager to take end-to-end ownership of vendor management and the procurement supply chain for IT hardware, assets, and related categories. The ideal candidate will manage the complete purchase cycle — from reading requirements and sourcing vendors to negotiating rates and ensuring timely delivery — while building and strengthening long-term relationships with OEMs and vendors. The role also covers procurement support for non-IT and ad-hoc requirements across Emdee's diversified businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end procurement of IT hardware, assets, components and peripherals — including desktops/laptops, active & passive networking equipment, computer peripherals, screens & AV, surveillance infrastructure (CCTV and more), biometrics, scanners/printers, servers & storage, LAN/WAN equipment, mobile devices/tablets, workstations, and other IT assets.
Read and interpret BOMs (Bill of Materials) to identify procurement requirements for projects and ad-hoc purchases.
Identify and contact relevant OEMs and vendors for required products/materials.
Send RFQs (Request for Quotations) to multiple vendors for each requirement to ensure competitive sourcing.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery timelines with vendors and OEMs.
Prepare comparison sheets to evaluate vendor quotes and support informed purchase decisions.
Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, and continuously work to expand and diversify the vendor base.
Coordinate with the accounts team for timely raising of purchase orders, vendor payments, invoice reconciliation, and resolution of payment queries.
Track order status and follow up proactively with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
Coordinate with the supply chain/logistics team on inbound shipment tracking, receipt, and warehousing.
Coordinate with project teams to understand requirement specifications, priorities, and timelines.
Procure non-IT goods for petty and ad-hoc purchases, non-IT components of tenders, and Emdee's diversified business verticals — managing the relevant vendor base for the same.
Maintain accurate procurement records — quotations, comparison sheets, purchase orders, and vendor master data.
Monitor market pricing trends to ensure the organisation consistently secures competitive procurement costs.

Qualifications & Skills

Any Graduate.
Minimum 4 years of procurement/purchase experience, mandatorily within an IT System Integrator, IT hardware commerce, retail, or distribution business.
Experience working in government tender markets is preferred.
Strong existing network of OEM and vendor contacts across IT hardware categories.
Proven experience in RFQ management, price negotiation, and vendor comparison/evaluation.
Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/procurement software.
Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.

Key Competencies

Strong ownership mindset with the ability to manage vendor relationships end-to-end.
Effective coordination and relationship-building across supply chain, project, and accounts teams.
Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple procurement requirements simultaneously.
High attention to detail in quotations, comparison sheets, and order tracking.

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
