VRC Plastomould Pvt Ltd. is a leading manufacturing company committed to delivering high-quality products through innovation, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement. We are looking for a passionate Design Engineer to join our growing team in Nagpur.

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer who will be responsible for designing new products, improving existing designs, and providing technical support to manufacturing and other cross-functional departments. The ideal candidate should have strong design skills, knowledge of manufacturing processes, and the ability to deliver cost-effective engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop new products according to customer specifications and company standards.
Modify and improve existing product designs to enhance quality, functionality, and performance.
Prepare accurate 2D and 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Provide technical support and coordination with production, process, quality, purchase, and service departments.
Release engineering drawings and technical documents on time and ensure only the latest approved revisions are available on the shop floor.
Review and update drawings through Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) whenever required.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction through design optimization, value engineering, and material selection without compromising quality or safety.
Conduct technical analysis, root cause analysis, and design validation to improve product reliability and performance.
Coordinate with customers and internal teams to understand technical requirements and implement design changes.
Participate in prototype development, product testing, and validation activities.
Support new product development (NPD) projects from concept to production.
Ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering standards, and quality requirements.
Maintain proper records of drawings, design revisions, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical documents.
Work closely with the production team to resolve manufacturing-related design issues.
Continuously suggest innovative ideas for product improvement and process optimization.

Required Qualifications

Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
2–5 years of experience in product design and development in a manufacturing industry.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or similar CAD software.
Good knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with BOM preparation and revision control.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

Experience in plastic product, mould, or rotational moulding design will be an added advantage.
Knowledge of value engineering and cost reduction techniques.
Understanding of ISO quality systems and documentation.
Exposure to product development, tooling design, and manufacturing processes.
