Job Description:
The Business Head – Mobile & Tablets Category will lead the complete business operations for the Mobile & Tablets vertical across myG. This role demands strong commercial acumen, strategic leadership, and deep industry relationships. The candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, market share expansion (target: 50% Kerala market share immediately), profitability improvement, and delivering a seamless customer and brand experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Category Leadership
- Develop and execute category-specific strategies for Mobiles & Tablets aligned with organizational objectives.
- Drive overall category revenue, growth, market share, and profitability.
- Plan and monitor weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales targets.
- Track market trends, competitor pricing, and customer demand to optimize category performance.
Pricing, Margins & Offer Management
- Finalize MOP, pricing framework, promotional schemes, and discounts.
- Ensure price competitiveness while maintaining planned margin structures.
- Collaborate with Finance for scheme approvals, incentives, and brand contributions.
Brand & OEM Negotiations
- Lead all negotiations with OEMs/brands for pricing, schemes, purchase terms, and exclusive opportunities.
- Build strong commercial agreements that ensure competitive advantage for myG.
- Ensure timely rollout of brand partnerships, joint business plans (JBPs), and growth programs.
Scheme Planning & Execution
- Plan, evaluate, and finalize consumer/Affordability offers, model wise schemes, SME schemes and retail incentives in coordination with OEMs.
- Monitor brand scheme tied up performance and optimize for maximum activations (sell out) and ROI.
- Ensure scheme communication and follow up with the respective finance team & ensure the same is received in time from the OEMs.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure high availability while keeping stock ageing and working capital within targets.
- Implement demand forecasting, purchase planning, and model lifecycle management.
- Oversee liquidation strategies for slow-moving, ageing, and EOL models.
Working Capital Management
- Control purchase cycles and payment terms to ensure efficient cash flow and healthy working capital position.
- Coordinate with finance for vendor payments, claim settlements, and credit management.
People Leadership & Sales Enablement
- Lead and guide Area Managers – Mobile Devices toward achieving category targets.
- Enable store teams with product knowledge, demo standards, selling techniques, and focus-model approach.
- Coordinate with People Excellence, Learning and Development departments and OEM trainers for training and launch-based sessions.
Customer Experience & Sales Performance
- Drive improvements in enquiry-to-sale conversion for Mobile & Tablet categories.
- Enhance in-store customer experience through effective demos, model explanations, and need-based selling.
- Improve accessory and add-on attachment metrics.
Product Marketing & Promotions
- Conceptualise and drive all product-level marketing and promotional campaigns.
- Work closely with the marketing team for ATL/BTL planning, product launches, digital promotions, and in-store visibility.
- Ensure high consumer awareness and strong brand presence across myG touchpoints.
Market & Competition Analysis
- Continuously track competitor prices, offers, launches, and market share.
- Provide insights to leadership and ensure myG stays ahead through timely strategy adjustments.
- Identify opportunities for new business, portfolio expansion, and exclusive brand tie-ups
Relationship Management
- Maintain strong and strategic relationships with key OEM stakeholders, distributors, and partner teams.
- Collaborate closely with retail operations, online business teams, supply chain, and finance to ensure seamless execution.
- Represent myG in brand meetings, business reviews, and strategic planning discussions.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure accurate product listing, pricing, and promotional hygiene across platforms.
- Oversee store execution of POSM, display, visibility items, and product merchandising.
- Drive efficiencies in processes related to procurement, claims, and category operations.
Reporting, Review & Compliance
- Publish daily/weekly/monthly category performance dashboards.
- Conduct review meetings with Sales Leadership, OEM partners, and internal teams.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies and compliance requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements:
