Job Description:
We are seeking an engineering leader with demonstrated experience building scalable, cloud-native and enterprise-grade software products. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in microservices, microfrontends, APIs, containers, Kubernetes, platform engineering, DevSecOps and full-stack web application development using React, Angular, TypeScript or comparable modern frameworks.
This role will lead modern software product teams building next-generation cloud, edge, platform and full-stack capabilities for industrial automation. The leader will drive scalable architecture, product-grade engineering practices, developer productivity and AI-enabled software delivery while partnering closely with control-domain experts to bridge classic industrial automation and modern platform engineering. The role is intentionally written at a capability level rather than tied to specific product names, so it attracts candidates with relevant modern industrial software and platform experience from a broad talent market.
-
Lead development of scalable software products using cloud-native, API-first, modular and platform-oriented architecture.
-
Drive engineering standards for microservices, microfrontends, React/Angular front-end architecture, TypeScript/JavaScript engineering, containerization, orchestration, observability, resiliency and secure-by-design development.
-
Build and hire full-stack engineering talent to close capability gaps in modern web applications, user-facing product experiences and cloud-connected workflows.
-
Build a culture where developers own quality through TDD, automated tests, code reviews, CI/CD quality gates and measurable software engineering outcomes.
-
Partner with UX, Product Management and Systems Engineering to ensure product architecture supports customer workflows, usability, lifecycle needs and business outcomes.
-
Lead, coach and develop engineers working across frontend, backend, platform, cloud, data, DevOps and AI-enabled engineering capabilities.
-
Create a high-accountability engineering culture focused on product outcomes, engineering excellence, quality and speed.
-
Recruit and develop modern software talent in Hyderabad while enabling productive collaboration with global product, UX, architecture and domain teams.
-
Define architecture direction for scalable services, user experiences, platform components and cloud/edge integration patterns.
-
Drive technical governance for APIs, microservices, microfrontends, React/Angular applications, containers, Kubernetes, deployment patterns, resiliency, observability and software supply-chain security.
-
Partner with MBSE and Systems Engineering teams to ensure product behavior, interfaces, requirements and verification strategy are coherent across system and software boundaries.
-
Ensure DevSecOps, automation, TDD/BDD, automated regression and quality gates are built into delivery from the start.
-
Partner with Product Management, UX, Systems Engineering, Architecture, DevOps/DevSecOps and Test Engineering to plan and deliver high-quality releases.
-
Own delivery risk, architecture dependencies, technical debt and resourcing across multiple concurrent modern product initiatives.
-
Use engineering metrics and transparent operating rhythms to improve flow, quality, productivity and accountability.
-
Collaborate closely with Product Management, UX, Architecture, Systems Engineering, DevOps/DevSecOps, Cybersecurity, Test Engineering and customer-facing stakeholders.
-
Translate modern software architecture decisions into clear business, product and delivery implications.
-
Create strong peer relationships with the Control Software Modernization manager and Software Engineering & Test Manager.
-
Continuously improve software delivery flow, developer experience, platform reuse, automation, observability and product quality.
-
Use engineering metrics, feedback loops and architecture reviews to improve team effectiveness and technical outcomes.
-
Scale AI-enabled practices such as code assistance, test generation, knowledge retrieval, developer copilots and engineering workflow automation where they create measurable value.
-
React, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, modern web frameworks, API gateways, REST/GraphQL APIs and user-facing application architecture.
-
Azure, AWS or Google Cloud; Kubernetes; Docker; Helm; Terraform or equivalent IaC; GitHub Enterprise; Azure DevOps; Jira; Confluence.
-
Microservices, event streaming, observability stacks, CI/CD and DevSecOps tooling; product analytics and design-system experience is a plus.
(External) English Qualifications:
-
15+ years of software engineering experience with significant hands-on experience developing modern software products or platforms.
-
5+ years of software engineering management experience leading teams building scalable cloud, SaaS, platform, enterprise or industrial software solutions.
-
Strong expertise in microservices, microfrontends, APIs, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, cloud platforms, containers and Kubernetes.
-
Must have experience developing or leading full-stack web applications using React, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, modern frontend architecture and backend/cloud services.
-
Experience hiring, coaching and evaluating frontend/full-stack engineers, including the ability to set technical standards for UI architecture, UX implementation, component reuse, quality and maintainability.
-
Experience with enterprise architecture, platform engineering, DevOps/DevSecOps, observability, reliability engineering and secure software delivery.
-
Strong programming background in one or more modern languages such as C#, Java, Go, Python, TypeScript or similar; C++ and object-oriented design experience is a plus.
-
Experience collaborating with Product Management, UX, Systems Engineering/MBSE, Architecture, Quality Engineering, Cybersecurity and DevOps/DevSecOps teams in a scaled product-development environment.
-
Experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones and cultures; experience working with North America, Europe and India-based teams is preferred.
-
Prior experience in industrial automation, DCS, SCADA, OT/IT convergence, edge computing, industrial IoT, asset management, connected operations or mission-critical industrial software experience.
-
Demonstrated experience applying AI-assisted software engineering techniques to improve developer productivity, quality, knowledge management, test automation or engineering workflows is a strong plus.
-
Experience leading global teams.
