Role description
Who We Are:
Cimpress Technology develops cutting-edge, best-in-world software that our mass customization businesses use to create personalized products for over 17 million global customers. Our Mass Customization Platform consists of modular, multi-tenant services. Our businesses can choose the solutions that work for them, or assemble any custom combination they need. This makes it easier and faster to introduce new products, reach customers, and track orders. And this kind of innovation keeps customers coming back. Just last year, Cimpress generated $2.88B in revenue through customized print products, signage, apparel, packaging and more.
We encourage our engineers to think like an owner – to continue to act small as we grow. Every team defines their own roadmaps, and uses the programming languages and technologies that suit them best. This helps us have a big impact at the enterprise level while still feeling small and nimble.
What You Will Do:
As a Full Stack Senior Software Engineer with a deep interest in data engineering, you will bridge the gap between application development and intelligent data systems. You will play a foundational role in building highly performant user interfaces, robust APIs, and scalable data integration layers that protect production system stability while driving near real-time operational insights.
Full-Stack Feature Delivery: Design, build, and maintain end-to-end features, writing clean application code across our frontend and backend microservices stacks.
Drive Data-Aware Architecture: Work to decouple heavy data reads and analytical reporting from core transactional databases, designing real-time abstraction layers (such as Operational Data Stores) to handle simultaneous transactional writes and high-volume reads seamlessly.
Build Near Real-Time (NRT) Pipelines: Design, optimize, and own source-aligned data products, managing the extraction and processing of raw JSON application data into our cloud data warehouse (Snowflake), while also building backend systems, APIs, and React-based frontend components for Observability and ing dashboards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, and central Fulfillment Data infrastructure teams to align application feature.
Your Qualifications:
At Cimpress, we are striving to hire individuals who add new ideas and perspectives to our teams and enhance our culture. No matter your background or work experience, we strongly encourage you to apply—even if you feel that you don’t meet the exact requirements or have the same qualifications. You might be a great candidate for this or other opportunities.
Experience: 2+ years of professional software engineering experience across full-stack application development, with a proven track record of shipping production-grade microservices. Infrastructure as Code (IaC ex: Terraform a nice to have)
Frontend Expertise: Production-level proficiency in ReactJS or Similar and building highly interactive, responsive UI components.
Backend Mastery: Familiarity with back-end technologies (eg: Python, Java, etc), with an ability to understand technical limitations and tradeoffs to deliver an optimal solution
Data & Cloud Mechanics: Solid foundational knowledge of cloud-native infrastructure (AWS primitives like Lambda, ECS, SQS/SNS) and event-driven architecture.
SQL : Working knowledge of SQL, comfort with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB), and experience working with nested JSON data structures
Ambiguity to Execution: Strong capacity to navigate ambiguous technical requirements, translate product roadmaps into executable technical narratives, and proactively surface system execution risks.
Nice to Have:
Previous experience collaborating on data infrastructure migrations, and an understanding of data structures via SQL and dbt.
Hands-on exposure to distributed stream processing primitives or workflow orchestrators (e.g. Airflow & DBT).
Formal certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Cloud Practitioner).
A strong affinity for engineering excellence tools (e.g., automated secret rotation, Snyk vulnerability remediation, custom GitLab CI/CD pipelines).
Why You'll Love Working Here:
Being at Cimpress means that you don’t see work as just a building, a desk or a manufacturing floor. You see it as a chance to take a step forward in your career journey – and your life. We strive to give you everything you need to learn, grow, and succeed. Through innovation, collaboration, and perpetual exposure to what’s next, we’re always pushing boundaries and broadening our horizons. We embrace the chance to operate outside of our comfort zone to discover what we’re capable of. Some might call that a challenge; we just call it another great day at work.
We're Remote-First:
