Summary:
UST is looking for Device Driver Development Engineer
Role Summary
We are looking for a results-driven Software Sales professional to identify new business opportunities, build strong customer relationships, and drive revenue growth through the sale of software products, solutions, and technology services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain device drivers for Linux and embedded operating systems.
- Develop kernel-space and user-space software components for hardware enablement.
- Work closely with hardware, firmware, BSP, and validation teams to support new platform bring-up.
- Implement and optimize drivers for interfaces such as PCIe, USB, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, CAN, and storage devices.
- Debug and resolve driver-related issues including performance, stability, and compatibility problems.
- Perform board bring-up, hardware validation, and driver integration activities.
- Develop and maintain interrupt handling, DMA operations, memory management, and power management features.
- Analyze kernel logs, crash dumps, and system traces to identify root causes of issues.
- Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and design discussions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and release notes.
- Support manufacturing, customer deployments, and production issue resolution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Linux Device Driver or Embedded Software development.
- Strong programming skills in C and C++.
- Solid understanding of Operating System concepts including processes, threads, scheduling, synchronization, memory management, and IPC mechanisms.
- Experience with Linux Kernel architecture and internals.
- Hands-on experience with device driver development and debugging.
- Familiarity with hardware interfaces and communication protocols.
- Experience using Git and source control systems.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Linux kernel module development.
- Knowledge of ARM, ARM64, x86, or RISC-V architectures.
- Experience with BSP development and board bring-up.
- Familiarity with Embedded Linux distributions such as Yocto or Buildroot.
- Understanding of Secure Boot, Trusted Execution Environments (TEE), and platform security concepts.
- Experience with virtualization technologies and hypervisors.
- Working knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS).
