Hands-on automation delivery and peer mentorshipAbout the RoleThe Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer is an experienced individual contributor responsible for designing, developing, executing, and maintaining automated tests for web, API, mobile, desktop, on-premises, and cloud-based solutions. The role applies sound quality engineering practices, contributes to reusable automation frameworks, mentors other engineers, and uses approved AI capabilities to improve testing efficiency while maintaining human review, data protection, and engineering accountability.Essential Duties
- Design, code, execute, debug, and maintain reliable automated tests using Playwright and Selenium, selecting the appropriate tool and test level for the solution.
- Create reusable page objects, fixtures, utilities, test data, and reporting components that support maintainable automation suites.
- Develop automation beyond record-and-playback by using JavaScript or TypeScript, C#, Java, Python, or another supported programming language.
- Automate functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing, and contribute to performance testing where appropriate.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and analyze failures to distinguish product defects, test defects, data issues, and environment issues.
- Use approved generative AI and AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate test design, test case creation, automation development, test data generation, defect analysis, and documentation.
- Validate AI-generated output for correctness, security, privacy, bias, and maintainability before use in testing or delivery workflows.
- Partner with development, product, infrastructure, and QA team members to apply shift-left, risk-based, and continuous testing practices.
- Mentor QA engineers through code reviews, pairing, demonstrations, and practical guidance on automation and AI-assisted testing.
- Communicate automation progress, quality risks, coverage, and results to delivery stakeholders.
Technical Skills
- Hands-on proficiency with Playwright and Selenium for modern web application automation.
- Strong programming or scripting skills, preferably in JavaScript or TypeScript, C#, Java, or Python.
- Hands-on experience with API testing and automation using tools and standards such as Postman, REST, and OpenAPI/Swagger.
- Strong SQL and data-validation skills for back-end and integration testing.
- Experience with source control, pull requests, Azure DevOps or comparable platforms, test management, and defect tracking.
- Practical experience using generative AI or AI coding assistants (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, or comparable tools) within software testing workflows.
- Understanding of automated quality gates, test reporting, traceability, and reliable test design.
- Strong knowledge of Agile delivery, software development lifecycle practices, and quality engineering principles.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically 3 to 5 years of software quality assurance, test automation, or quality engineering experience.
- Proven hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test suites for enterprise applications.
- Experience automating solutions hosted in Microsoft Azure, AWS, or another cloud environment is preferred.
Leadership Expectations
- Remains primarily accountable for hands-on automation delivery within assigned products and features.
- Mentors peers and may guide small project-based testing efforts, but does not own enterprise automation strategy or people-management responsibilities.
- Escalates framework, tooling, governance, and cross-team standards decisions to the Lead Engineer or QA Manager as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- ISTQB or comparable quality certification.
- Experience with accessibility, visual, mobile, or performance test automation.
- Experience with AI-enabled quality engineering use cases and responsible AI practices.

Pay: ₹566,962.42 - ₹1,300,000.00 per year
