Job summary
As a Retail Commerce & Sales Senior Manager, you will lead strategic Retail Commerce & Sales engagements and deliver strategic and operational consulting to global retail clients, focusing on merchandise, supply chain, and store operations across grocery, fashion, and general merchandise segments. The role requires a strong blend of domain expertise, consulting leadership, retail value chain understanding, sales and commercial transformation expertise, stakeholder management, and business development capabilities to shape and deliver scalable, future-ready Retail Commerce & Sales solutions.
Roles and responsibilities

Lead end-to-end retail growth and transformation programs, including strategy definition, capability assessment, process transformation, capability roadmap development, and implementation planning aligned with client business objectives across store and digital channels.

Manage client projects spanning customer experience, e-commerce, omnichannel, pricing, promotions, assortment, and operating model transformation initiatives.

Lead sales and commercial operating model design - coverage and channel models, account structures, spans and layers, and key governance forums (S&OP, JBP etc.)

Advise on monetization of retail media networks and commercial income (supplier-funded media, promotional funding, rebates), including the operating model and governance to run them as a B2B revenue engine.

Drive workstreams spanning business process design, requirements translation, and solutioning for core retail functions.

Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders and C-level executives, providing expert guidance on retail commerce best practices, industry trends, store and omnichannel platform capabilities, and operating model evolution.

Lead the development of assets, business cases, reusable solutions, accelerators, thought leadership, and industry points of view that strengthen the retail offering and support market differentiation.

Contribute to business development and GTM activities by identifying new opportunities, shaping propositions, developing proposals, and owning solution narratives for retail engagements.

Identify, prioritize, and scale high-value AI-led/agentic opportunities across retail commerce to enhance business performance, customer outcomes, and operational effectiveness.
Professional & Technical Skills:

Hands-on experience in strategy consulting, business transformation, and leading transformation programs for global clients across retail (grocery, apparel sectors).

Strong understanding of end-to-end retail business processes, including merchandising and assortment planning, supply chain and inventory management, demand planning and forecasting, replenishment, pricing and promotions, space planning, store operations, order management, fulfillment, customer service, and omnichannel capabilities.

Hands-on functional experience in at least two core retail areas: merchandising, supply chain, pricing and promotions, demand planning and forecasting, replenishment, or space planning, with familiarity with Retail SaaS platforms supporting planning, merchandising, supply chain, and store operations.

Technical expertise in SQL, database management, APIs, and Microsoft Azure, with the ability to apply these technologies in retail solution design and delivery.

Strong grounding in retail pricing architecture and price image (KVIs, EDLP vs Hi-Lo), promotion optimization and markdown effectiveness, and range/mix planning.
Ability to evaluate Commerce & Sales platforms and technology solutions based on business needs, customer experience priorities, scalability, integration requirements, and long-term value.
Experience translating business strategy into actionable transformation programs and operating models.

Experience working with senior stakeholders and C-level executives to drive alignment, secure buy-in, manage expectations, and support executive decision-making.

Proven business development experience, including opportunity identification, solution shaping, proposal development, and end-to-end ownership of client engagements.

Team leadership and people development skills to build, motivate, and guide diverse teams across consulting, functional, technical, and delivery capabilities.
Practical understanding of AI-led Retail Commerce & Sales use cases to improve customer experience, conversion, operational efficiency, and decision-making.
Additional information:

13+ years of progressive industry and/or consulting experience in retail, commerce, consumer packaged goods, or related sectors.

MBA from a Tier 1 institute preferred; MBA or equivalent degree in Business, Strategy, Sales & Marketing.

Demonstrated experience leading large-scale retail transformation engagements, including strategy, business process redesign, solution definition, and implementation support.
